I loved Pagliarini and this class. Granted, she's a pretty tough grader on tests. But, the information was interesting and she spiced it up with videos and guest speakers. I took her Montheism class, and we had a nun, a rabbi, and a Muslim come in and speak during the quarter. She also stays really objective so as to not offend anyone. Another thing...while I was writing my final paper, I would e-mail her pages and she would tell me how to improve it. This was probably a day before it was due, but she was still so helpful and kind. Awesome professor. You won't regret taking her!

Pros- Teacher is very knowledgeable and cares a great deal about conveying her interest in the material. One of the most interesting classes I've had. Cons- If you're not interested in the material, it's a lot of work for a GE.

She assigned way too much writing assignments. you would think that this class may be easy because it is in the c4 area for GE's. Not so much. She is good at explaining things, but overall...her classes are way to hard for what they are worth. Choose another C4, or take it CR/no CR to save yourself some trouble. Oh yeah, instead of a final, you have a huge 15 page paper...awesome...yeah right

I really liked this class! We looked at so many different religions, and we took a very objective scholarly approach. The professor's grading is hard (!), but she was willing to work with students on their essays and assignments. This class forced me to improve my writing. If you are looking for an interesting and challenging class, take this class!

Marie is awesome! She is so passionate about her subject and is wonderful at presenting the material and making her students look at religion in a different way. She is incredibly helpful during office hours and encourages her students to come in to get comments about their papers and ways to improve. Although there was a lot of reading, I found it all to be interesting and relavent. I recommend this class if you are interested in religion and want a different perspective on it.

Professor Pagliarini is a predmadonna of the mental elitists. She expects a higher quality of writing than she is probabably capable of. BEWARE! This is all under the guise of "having high writing expectations" Teachers are supposed to TEACH, NOT CRITIQUE. What is is with these professors who try to belittle their students through the transmission of poor grades and criticism despite an obvious effort in the class? She isn't published anywhere, I looked. Perhaps THIS is why she has something to prove? WATCH OUT!!! UNFAIR GRADING!! This comment was not generated from spite but rather out of the frustration that comes from dealing with professors who fail to take into consideration that students are generally NOVICES in undergraduate courses! NOT ALL OF US HAVE A PhD in Women's Studies or an M.A. in English!!!
