Dr. Turner is a superior Chemistry instructor and I really enjoyed this class because of her. She know alot about the subject and tries very hard to make the class interesting for students. She really wants her students to do well and she is very helpful both in and out of class. There was one midterm, a final, 3 small reports and usually a quiz every week. The material is very straight-forward and she puts alot of material on Blackboard so you can get extra practice. I'd recommend taking her if you can.

I got a C in her lab, because I didn't study for the first two lab quizzes. She is a sweetheart and is more than willing to help you if you ask. She is good at explaining things, and her labs were actually fun (and I don't like science). I'd recommend Dr. Turner

Very good teacher. She is super nice and easy to ask questions. We usually got out of lab ear;y too. She helped you understand if you didn't get it. I highly recomend taking her for lab.

110 wasn't too bad at all. She is clear on the information and if you have taken high school chemistry the class is not hard at all. She spends the first bit of every class reviewing what she talked about the class before. Has a few extra credit questions to make up for points you missed on the test. She does a lot of in class assignments on Fridays and all of the tests and quizzes are on Fridays too. The class builds on itself throughout the quarter so make sure you know the beginning stuff to help later in the quarter

She is the best teacher on campus. Recognizes student needs, very helpful, if you simply go to her lectures and pay attention you should be more than fine for this class. She is great

Turner is decent. Although I cannot rave about her, I do not have anything especially negative either. A bit snappy some days, but helpful in office hours (and if you have a question in class). The curriculum is pretty straightforward if you took chem in high school, but some days are fast-paced, so be on top of your game if this is your first chem class.

Dr. Turner is definitely a really cool person and very down to earth. I don't know if it was how she taught things or what, but I did horribly in this class. I can't blame it on her though because I never asked for help. GO TO OFFICE HOURS. Seriously, cause once you fall behind in this class it is SO hard to get yourself back on track. I did well in regular chemistry, but organic chemistry is completely different so get the help you need early on. I also had Dr. Turner for lab, which was fine and pretty easy.

Professor Turner is the sigle best teacher I have had my entire education. Gen chem was super hard for me so I was really nervous to take ochem but she knows her subject so well that she is able to teach if efficiently and in a manner that we can understand. This was the first time I actually felt like a professor actually cared if I learned the information rather than just giving me a grade. I have never felt more successful as a student then I have in this class. Thanks Turner, I hope you read this so you know how awesome you are. Keep shinin'.

Turner isn't as good as everyone says she is. She goes way too fast in lecture and makes mistakes on the board all the time. I didn't like that the other professors for 312 had practice tests and workshops while Turner had neither. Her "study guides" were bullet points of what we needed to know and it essentially said "know everything." Her homework was helpful, but I felt like I had to teach myself the material after lecture. Slightly helpful in office hours. It's not that I don't understand the material, I have a solid B; it's just she is awful at lecturing! If you can, take someone else like Dr. Drew, because I hear he's way better than anyone else. AVOID TURNER AT ALL COSTS.

Dr. Turner was a very sweet professor that was always approachable. She did make a good amount of mistakes in class, but she usually corrected the mistake in a timely manner. I really liked that she was clear as to what she expected you to know for the tests. Her tests are basically the practice problems she assigns, so just do those a couple of times and you should be able to pull off an easy B. The main problem I had with her class was the multiple choice portion of her tests. Those portions were always the hardest parts of her exams. She is an excellent lab teacher and she has designed her own lab problems, which are considerably easier than the ones in the lab manual. The lab grade is basically determined by how you do on two lab quizzes that comprise about 45% of the grade. These quizzes although not difficult should be taken fairly seriously. Overall I liked Turner I feel that she could have done a better job in lecture, but she was likeable and cared about her students.

Betsy is great! Let me tell you, I was scared to take ochem because everyone was talking about how crazy-hard it was, but they must have been talking about a different course. The survey of ochem was very manageable, compared to gen chem or gen bio. I LOVED the labs because they were clear and easy to understand. Dr. Turner also is very helpful during lab when you are working on the graded lab write ups (which are due at the end of class and no too bad). For the lecture, it got pretty heavy during the last three weeks or so, but she is always available for office hours, so go see her for help. Overall, this class is great and it is the only science class at Cal Poly that has done a decent job in not completely confusing you during lab.

Dr. Turner is not a very good professor. She is extremely ditsy and was not always prepared for lecture, which made it confusing. I had to teach myself a lot of the material from the book. Reading it definitely helps, and doing the suggested problems is the best way to study. You shouldn't avoid taking this class with her if it works the best for your schedule or is all that's available. It's O-Chem, so expect to put in a lot of time regardless.

Dr. Turner is an incredible professor. TAKE HER. After a dreadful series of professors for CHEM 127-129, I was not optimistic towards the department as a whole. That really changed with Turner. She is very clear, asks if there are questions, and most importantly answers them well. She is approachable and funny and I cannot recommend her enough.

After struggling immensely in Chem 127 and 128, I was already preparing myself to fail O Chem. But Dr. Turner really changed my perspective after the first day. She is thorough and really goes at a slower pace in the beginning so everyone starts off on common ground. I HIGHLY recommend finding a person to go over everything with before each quiz and midterm. You can go through her super detailed study guides together. It was the first chemistry class I actually loved, and one that took time but she explains it so well I did not have to teach myself anything.

Dr.Turner was AWESOME. By far one of the best professors I've had at Cal Poly. She is extremely knowledgeable and really good at clarifying more difficult concepts. She writes notes on the board as you take notes so it's easy to keep up with lecture and understand the material. She has small in class assignments that are structured exactly like the test questions which is TREMENDOUSLY helpful. I also really enjoyed learning about the material because she made it very clear and easy to understand especially for something as difficult as organic chemistry. I went to office hours throughout the quarter so as long as you keep up with the class it's very doable!

Dr. Turner became one of my favorite professors here. She is knowledgeable about the subject, though sometimes her presentation could get muddled. With 2 quizzes and 2 exams (+ the final) and fairly easy in class assignments I thought it was a fair class and she a VERY fair grader. Her tip to recopy notes after lecture helped me tons, if you have time do that, also do the practice problems from the book (yes you should get the book). Lab was a bit of a joke but really fun; though I found the quizzes to be sometimes unreasonable.

Dr. Turner is so organized in lecture which made organic chemistry way less intimidating. Don't get me wrong I studied my a$$ off to get the grade I did. This is not an easy class but I didn't have a choice of whether not to take it because it was required for my major. Turner was extremely approachable in office hours and I recommend EVERYONE to go to them, even if it just to listen to other people's questions because chances are you have the same questions as the do. Do the practice problems, go to class, keep organized notes and you will do just fine.

Turner is hella sick, she definitely knows her stuff and I would take her for a lecture in a heartbeat. She can help with everything you have questions with. She is also really engaging and actually shows a passion for the subject of Organic Chemistry. 10/10 would take again.

I loved Dr. Turner! She explains the material very clearly and since she writes the notes with you in class, she doesn't go too fast. Do the homework and supplemental problems! They are a big help for the midterms. Office hours are great too. Did not have to use the book that much. Take her!!

This is my second quarter with Dr. Turner. I took 312 with her last quarter and am in 313 right now. I highly recommend this if possible because she gives you a great foundation in 312 which is necessary in 313. The class itself is tough with a lot of material covered in each lecture. That being said, I recommend NOT skipping lectures. Over 2 quarters I have developed a system that worked well: Print out power points and then do handwritten notes along side it. Keep track of the dates various notes go with. Manage an organized binder or section your work so come final time, you aren't missing pertinent information. Good luck, Dr. Turner is amazing!

Dr. Turner is an extremely competent Professor but for some reason every time I took one of her test I would walk out of there feeling like I aced that mofo and then I would get a D on it. She is really good at presenting the material, but is also an extremely harsh grader. The lab fucked me and I probably got a D in the course because of it.
