First off, let me start by saying she is incredibly sweet and will do her best to help you. She tries really hard, but just ends up confusing the class most of the time. Most of the people I know in the class don't go to her lectures because we're better off teaching ourselves. She starts off explaining something, and then realizes it was wrong and erases and starts over. This is really confusing when you're trying to follow steps. Eventually she gets it right, but the path to get there is long. If you can take someone else, do it. If you already know the material, take this class because you don't have to turn in homework.

theresa is such a sweetheart! i would recommend taking her class..she totally tests on concepts which is awesome and gives partial credit even when you dont come close to the right answer..she is new so she has some quirks to work out, i think sometimes its just her feeling nervous..anyway she is so friendly and bakes cookies for her classes..she also makes time to help you as much as you need..i would recommend her for 118 because it can be so high paced and she doesnt expect you too be a math genius...

While she is a nice person, she sucks as a teacher. Her lectures are really boring. Half the students didn't even show up because all she does is copy the material out of the book. She is enthusiastic, but can't help people who don't understand math. I studied hard and did the homework so i did well in her class, but most people i studied with got a B or C. She is better than other math teachers, but again, she is really boring and not helpful.

Yes she can present the material well. However, she does not consider the students capabilities what so ever. If you go into her office and talk about your grade, she will say that it is fine and that you will be alright and then, BOOM... your final grade says differently and when you confront her she says, "well you just really didn't know the material and that is it" I tried so hard but some people aren't good at math and she doesn't take that into consideration. Effort doesn't mean shit to her.

i enjoyed her as a teacher....if u r good at math and understand math really well, you could sleep and get an A...if not, she goes over how to do problems really well and asks if you have any question before moving on to another subject. so if you have any questions, i sugest you ask before you get lost. but as long as you ask questions when yo need help, you shouldn't get anything less than a B

Professor Migler was a very cheerful lady who made it her priority to clarify concepts for the homework in class. There were two midterms and a final (cumulative), homework assigned for each week (to be turned in) and a quiz each week based on the homework. Unfortunately, each homework assignment was graded as though it were a quiz, and showing effort was not enough. I had a few emergencies arise during the quarter, and Professor Migler was very understanding and promised it would all work out. When Dead Week came and the scores on Blackboard were not matching up with what we discussed, I emailed her with my concerns. No response. I emailed her no less than five more times in the space of three days and did not recieve a reply until the day that grades were due. No apology. I took AP Calculus in high school and merely needed this class as a GE, but I got a lower grade here than when I was actually taking a difficult math class due to inconsistencies in communication with the teacher.

Theresa is a nice lady who is pretty young, but is always smiling. Taking trig sucks but she makes is a bit more interesting. She makes you turn in a couple of assignments during the quarter, a quiz a week, two midterms and a final. The quizzes are not bad but the midterms tend to get difficult if you dont understand the material. Sometimes she gets confused when working problems out on the board, which can get frustrateing for the students. Thats really the only bad side. Overall, not a bad teacher at all.

Ms Theresa will give you all the tools you need to succeed in this class, and spells out very clearly what is expected on midterms, quizzes, and the final. There are no surprises, but you will need to do the work to learn the material. She exhibits a nice compromise between flexibility and demand, and in the end, places responsibility for success squarely on the shoulders of the student. She follows the text, but does a good job of distilling the material down to a manageable level of the most important concepts. Memorizing is kept to a minimum, as she emphasizes the means to derive what you need from a few simple formulas. A few students complained that she screwed up some examples on the board, but that just makes her human in my book. Fact is, she was always willing to work anything on the board without rehearsal or regard to her familiarity with the problem. It actually helped me to hone my trouble shooting abilities by watching her think on her feet, and got me more involved in the class. The down side. There are certain topics that she breezed over that I would have liked covered in more depth. Several of the lectures ran short, so we really had the time. She shares an office with about 30 people, and it is impossible to concentrate on math in there. She is VERY good at returning e-mail questions though. Overall, a good teacher with a pleasant personality. And she bakes cookies for the class that didn

She is very young, and very understanding of the many difficulties students deal with. And she is very thorough in her lectures. She even helped me with my troubles with dyslexia. I highly recommend her. Just do your best on all the homework, and use those to study. You will do great.

I feel the only real problem with Theresa is that her lessons are STRIAGHT out of the book. She doesn't break it down in an original style. Bummer. She is very nice, very intelligent, and very sensitive of her students needs.

She only shows the work straight out of the book. She is very boring and hard to pay attention to. Test are way harder than the homework. the average on our second mid-term was down around a 50%. I would never take her again.

She is the hardest grader I have ever had. Other than that she is very nice and takes a lot of time for her students. Only take 141 if you already have an understanding of Calculus 1.

Migler teaches stright out of the book. Her whole class is theorms and proofs so none of the students intuitively knew what was going on. Thank goodness I had calc in high school or I would have been VERY lost

She presents the material as if you have already learned it. She continually said, "Now if you recall..." and "You probably already know this, but..." For a first time learner of calculus, she just doesn't cut it. Also, she always said not to be concerned about your grade, that it would turn out fine, but that was not the case. Don't recommend her.

Teresa is so passionate about what she does. She really loves calculus and teaching. It kinda seems like she should be teaching kindergarten because she's always smiling and always happy. She gives a pretty good amount of homework, but none of it is due so you can do as much/little as you want. She gives 2 midterms which I thought were rather easy, and one final. She's very helpful in her office hours and even gave 3 additional hours just for my class the week before finals. The only thing I didn't like about her teaching style was that she wrote EVERYTHING on the board. She spent at least 10 minutes each class just writing definitions on the board that nobody wrote down. She also has very nice handwriting for a math teacher. Pretty cute too, but she's married.

Professor Migler is the best Math teacher I had at Cal Poly. She gives a quiz at the end of every week, but all the problems come from the homework she assigns. She is very helpful when you go into her office hours and she has a review before each test. If you have the chance take Migler.

Best math teacher EVER!!!!!! Super sweet and always willing to help. Her enthusiasm makes the material much more interesting, especially for me since I have always hated math. I am sad that I don't have to take another math class because I would take her again. Any business major should jump at the chance to take her class.

All business majors should take her. The view alone is worth it. I'm not sure what went on in class because I didn't look at the board much. But, I'm looking forward to taking it again! I was totally bummed when she got engaged because I was totally going to make a move at the final. Nicest a$$ I've ever seen on a teacher.

That was an easy A. Homework quizzes boosted my grade and Prof. Migler was real easy to understand. She breaks it down. She's a grad student, so she won't be around long, but take her if you can.

Take her if you can! She is a much fairer grader and her teaching style is great. As long as you don't fall behind you'll do fine in her class. Also DO THE HOMEWORK. I can't stress how important it is to spend as much time as possible doing the homework for her class.

Dr. Migler is one of the best professors I have had at Cal Poly. She presents the material clearly, has a well-structured system for homework, labs, and quizzes, and is always willing to help during office hours.
