I really didn\'t like this guy at first. He seemed arrogant and didn\'t really get the fact that some of us aren\'t really interested in water. But as the quarter wore on he became more friendly and I actually like him as a teacher now.

soo mad. i had a 90.1 going into the final and got royally screwed by it. i ended up with an 88 in the class but since he doesn\'t give + or - it really sucks. as for the class, styles is probably my favorite professor and since i\'m a brae major i might switch advisors to him now. he clearly presents the material and makes irrigation interesting. after this class i actually decided to go into the irrigation field. overall, great teacher and great class although i kinda wish i had at least one experience with dr. burt

the material was well presented, very clear from the power points that he has. every day homework is due which was never hard, but it took a bit of time. the weekly quiz was never too hard because it was from the information from the week, and low quiz scores could be made up which was verrry nice. it was pretty easy class, i liked the online office hours, i found them very helpful

Dr. Styles is a great teacher. Nobody in the class received less than a C only a few people even got that. His lectures tend to be taken up by passing out papers and talking about the schedule but he takes a lot of time to answer questions that make up for it. Pretty fun class, couple labs get confusing but will make sense later.

although 236 was a very well organized and well taught class 312 was not. our labs were total chaos and lectures were not very helpful. the only reason i got an A is because of all the extra credit he offered throughout the quarter. it probably added up to an extra 7%. since we have no choice at another teacher, i'll just wave my hands at this one

Unless you're a woman, this guy is no good. He doesn't teach you much, but he will wave his hands at things. Should be an ITRC manager, not a professor. The worst thing above Stu is general attitude outside of class. Also, don't bother going to office hours if you have questions.

Dr. Styles is one of the most respected men in his industry, but this man has to be the worst professor in the BRAE department. He is the director of an engineering company...he simply does not have the time or passion to teach. He lectures for 15 minutes total. The rest of the time is wasted as he explains questions so far into detail you forget what you originally asked. He doesn't like doing examples in class. He is those teachers who LOVES to throw curveballs at you on quizzes. Never anything straightforward. He loves trick questions. He likes to make you look dumb in class. If you're a BRAE, your shit out of luck because he's your only option. Just a heads up...

He is unavailable to ask questions, his grading it basically how he is feeling at the time, he spends more time talking about what hes going to do rather than teaching, he teaches you only how to use an equation never helps you understand why which usually results in not being able to do something on a quiz because he changed it around and never showed you how to actually solve it. Horrible don't know why he wanted to be a teacher because he really seems to not like dealing with students what-so-ever.

I would rate Dr. Styles but I have to just punt on that one. Take the class and you will find out what I mean.

Basically only lectured most of the time for 5-10 minutes at most. Labs are based on a competition and for group projects, its just the luck of the draw since they are also based on a competition scale. Basically lectures off his power points which are pretty much useless since the book is a better teacher. Also during his non-online office hours, he always seems like he is trying to get you out of his office since he has something better to do even when he is required to hold those office hours.

lectured for roughly 10 minutes per day, based almost all labs on "professional" type scale which means whoever loses the bid gets a bad grade, and doesn't explain anything.....ever. just a tip, do whatever project goes to swanton, it usually results in the best grade
