Before we get started, RUSTY ROY is the MAN! Took this course with Rusty Roy and he made accounting very simple for me. He is a teacher that I would love to pound some cold brews with. I am looking for other courses he teaches just so I can take him again. TAKE RUSTY! my nigga..

He's chill, makes a lot of stupid jokes but keeps the ambiance of the room at a nice level. I recommend him.

Rusty was very disorganized and failed to teach anything. He would attempt to do problems in class, mess them up, and then end up confusing the class even more. Be prepared to have to teach yourself most of the material. If you do take him, make sure you get a good group because there are group portions of the midterm and final, and group projects. The tests are all multiple choice, except for the group part that is about 3-4 written out problems. There are about 4 excel projects. He offered tons of extra credit so take advantage of it. If you are able to teach yourself and learn from the book, you will be fine. If you need a teacher who can explain the concepts and actually teach, I wouldn't recommend him.

Alright, this class is so easy, I got over a 100% overall in the classs. That is pretty pathetic. But I feel Managerial Accounting is a class where you can afford to have an easy teacher. This class was an EASY "A" but he is not a kean cookie. Any student could have taught better.

This class was so rediculously easy! I pretty much pulled two all niters for the midterms and all the assignments (excels, quizzes etc) were a frekkin joke. Overall, I would recommend taking this class when you have other really hard classes

Rusty Roy is a good guy who openly admits that he cannot teach this class. He giggles all the time and is not very organized, but is grading system makes up for his inability to teach the material. There is a crazy amount of extra credit... pretty much every class. All the quizzes (RATs as he calls them) are bonus points and all the in class activities are automatic full points if you are there. There are quite a few group assignments, but the grading is not difficult. Especially for the cookie project. Everyone gets an A unless you really don't put any effort in. I bombed the midterm, did all the extra credit, and ended up with a 90% going into the final. He is a cool guy too, and really helpful during office hours. The type of person who should take a class from him is someone who knows accounting or can learn it on their own. I am utterly confused by the subject, so having him for an instructor really limited how much I learned.

Class is pointless except that he assigns quizzes that give you points. Pretty much his lame way of keeping attendence. He puts you into teams which sucks because my team didnt do anything and I had to do it all, but they get all the points still. Well he claims he takes off 3 points, which is barely anything. His lectures consist of him talking about how great he is, or how his cpa firm is simply amazing. One time he told us that he had tax returns hed rather do because he make thousands off of that and that if we had questions we better have thousands to make up for his lost time. He thinks he is funny, but really isnt. I got an A so it is obvious I am not salty, this guy just sucks.

This class definitely made me change my mind about accounting (after having an awful teacher for BUS 214.) Rusty's grading policy is very fair- he wants you to get a good grade and gives a lot of extra credit points to help you out with that- you just have to go to class to get most of them. No hw is collected, tests aren't bad at all if you just study. The other students that say all Rusty does is giggle and write messy seem to be bitter for some reason- I mean Rusty's writing isn't always legible but all you have to do is print the slides he gives you on BB off and you have the entire lecture. Also you can just go to his office hours if you need any help understanding the material and Rusty will sit there and go over all the concepts until you get them. Bottom line is I really enjoyed the class and 10% of your grade is from a cookie project, so take this class!

Best teacher I've had at Poly. If you can't fit him into your schedule, I'd honestly wait until you can. He is extremely entertaining, especially at 7am which is nice. He is also very fair in tests and grading. Very approachable (and even fun) to visit in office hours and in response to whoever evaluated him about 2 people down, I could argue every point. If you can't take him saying "you better have thousands of dollars if you want my help" as a joke... then I don't know what to tell you. He jokes around the whole time, which keeps class fun. Extremely fair, not a difficult class, but you really honestly learn the material inside and out at the same time. He's a great teacher-that's why it's easy. He knows how to teach without ruining our weekends. Nothing bad to say about this guy, he's awesome.

Rusty is a solid teacher. The class itself is pretty easy and not too time consuming. There is a group project, but it's fun and worth the time. The midterms have a group portion and the questions are pretty much right from the book. In addition, the best part of the class, you are rewarded for reading instead of punished. There is usually a quiz at the beginning of class on the reading and it is purely extra credit. This can help a lot when the midterm and final rolls around.

If you don't want to learn anything and get an a, this is the class for you. The class is out of 500 points and every day you show up you have 3 point extra-credit quizzes which are directly from the homework problems - i got 10% of my grade this way. He didn;t like how we did on the final, so decided to bump everybody's grade up by 1%. Take him!!!

I really enjoyed Professor Roy's class and it's definately not hard to do well in. If you go to class and do the reading, or even just skim over the chapter or notes, you will get extra credit points everyday. He doesn't care if you come to class, but I think it helped me (besides the extra credit points) because we do sign in everyday and I think he rewards you if he knows that you make the effort. The material itself is difficult and he doesn't always do the best job explaining it, but there are a lot of easy ways to get points: going to class, easy thought papers, excels, and a really easy group project. I did well in the class and I struggled with the material. Overall, I had this class at 7 a.m. and it wasn't that bad because Roy is a fun and energetic teacher, and if nothing else he will grab your attention.

ROY IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely take him! He is one of the best teachers I have ever had at Poly! He makes it SO possible to actually get an A- which is not always the case at this school. He is extremely fair about grading and if you are willing to put in the effort that you should for an accounting class- you are almost guaranteed an A! So funny, cracks the craziest and most inappropriate jokes about everything- makes class interesting! Definitely a class you need to show up to if you really want the A and he will keep you until the end every class, but its worth it! TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is an amazing accounting teacher. If you study, you WILL get an A. He is a really fair teacher and offers tons of extra credit. He shows you in class what you need to know, you have a weekly quiz so you don't fall behind, he has practice test on the same material you are tested on (with answers), and he is just an overall fun, charismatic guy.

ATTENTION EVERYONE: If you are reading this, that means you are considering taking Rusty Roy for Bus 215 or for an upper division tax program. Let me be the first to say RECOMMEND Roy for either course! Rusty Roy has become one of my favorite teachers in OCOB. He's a funny guy that is really down to earth. I took him at 8am till 10am M/F and although that seems brutal for scheduling, he definitely makes it fun and enjoyable. He gives so many opportunites to go over tests, problems, and issues regarding the material. He provides tons of extra credit, and honestly you couldnt ask for anything more from the man! I'm not biased because of myself doing well in his class, I'm just being honest and blunt. Take him, you WON'T regret it!
