Dr. Rosenberg is great. The class is easy to begin with. I was nervous to find out that prior to this class, he's never taught before. But he was excellent and well prepared. Don't think that since he's a Stanford grad it makes him a snob. He's really humble about himself, even though I think he knows more than a lot of profs here. Do the homework and pay attention in class, and it's an easy A or B. If you get less than a C in his class, you should consider a career in the garbage collection industry. The only way you would get such a bad grade is if you didn't show up to class or didn't do the homework. The ME 134 course notes that you get don't include everything he lectures on, but most of it, so be sure to copy his examples. He does use PowerPoint presentations a lot, but they're well planned and executed. What I really loved about the class was his excitement and enthusiasm in teaching, something that a good number of Poly profesors lack. If I see that he's teaching an upper-division course later on, I'd sign up immediately.

his enthusiasm is addictive. I had a GREAT time in class, and learned quite a bit too. Very hands on, uses several competitions. Very easy to approach and talk to. usually 1-2 easy (less than .5 hr) homeworks a week. Tests are not difficult if you do the homework and study a titch. lab is always entertaining and well prepared. If you don't do well in this class you should quit college and get a job retreading tires

Wow. He's just plain awesome. The class is easy as hell to begin with. It's really just a super watered down physics. But the project we did was a blast. We had to invent a new product and market it to the class. My group won, which was cool. We also did a lot of hands on stuff even in lecture and one day we had a guest lecturer. There was barely any homework and I believe the midterms were open notes and the final was take-home. Rosenberg is also a freaking genius! He invented some crazy thing and brought it in to show us one day. This guy is just plain awesome.

Awesome prof. This class is really cool, and pretty much all of the profs are gonna be good. The only reason why I would recommend Lou over another prof is because there was only one take home lab. As long as you show up and do the lab reports, you should get an A in this class.

Dr. Rosenberg is enthusiastic about teaching ME. He knows his stuff, the mechatronics lab was the only challenging lab, and he didn't offer much help on the mechatronics lab. The class itself is really hyped-up, and when you get into the class it is dissappointing, because although it is an interesting class it isn't as fun as to be expected. Rosenberg is an easy A. The final project is a group project and his grading is fair, if not a little easy.
