Prof. Stauch kicks ass! Bottom line. She used to be a highschool teacher so she uses that kind of teaching style in her classroom. She really spends the time to relate to her students. I was failing and she helped me out so much-to the point where I ended up with a B! There is homework but it's not too hard. If you have questions she is always willing to help you out-just talk to her for a couple minutes in class. She has you do journals which helps pad the grade a little. But yeah-she is so great!

Stauch is great! The labs helped you understand the lecture and you can't get lost in the material. She is always open to help students who don't understand. Easy grader. Fun teacher. Take her if you can get her!!!

Dr. Stauch is very nice! She does really care about her students. The class seemed easy, but some of midterm questions were hard, unless you really understood the lab. Sometimes she got confused when explaining a phenomenom in the lab, so she often reads her answer sheet from the PET lab book. The class is only lab, there's hardly lectures. Sometimes she doesn't explain what the lab' purpose was about, so you end up with misinterpretations from the lab results, which will pretty much hunt you, unless you try to figure it out before the midterm or final. The hardest thing in this class is not to overthink the material, but overall Stauch is great!

Ditto to everything that was said. She helped with everything, and she is the ONLY professor I've had who remembers me, and knows me by name. She's really working hard to make science fun, easy, and memorable. I love the "no lecture, all exploration" approach, even though I personally don't like labs or science. I'm going to take her for PSC 102 and 103 if I can.

Nancy actually taught at Laguna Middle School when I went there (yeah, I'm a local). She teaches one hundred times better than most of the other teachers at Cal Poly! Every day when I walked into PSC101, she would ask how I was doing or she would inquire about my weekend. SHE ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT HER STUDENTS!!! If you have the opportunity to take Nancy, DO IT! She knows how to teach and she will take the time to help you with anything. When you take a test or turn in an assignment, 99% of the time you get it back the next class meeting. She is used to have several hundred papers to grade (from when she taught at the middle school) and so to her, grading papers at Cal Poly is easy (unlike many of the teachers at Poly). TAKE NANCY STAUCH! SHE IS A FABULOUS TEACHER!!!

Stauch is awesome! I never liked science before her class. She was very accomidating when i needed to meet her outside of class for extra help. Everyone participates during class. Everything is hands on and you get to work in groups pretty much the whole time. The course materials is an easy to follow workbook that you answer questions/draw diagrams in every day. No text book, just the workbook. The lectures are at most 15minutes before each activity. It doesn't even seem like a lecture. There is barely any homework. Study hard for the midterm and final, they are a surprise because the classwork is not hard, but you need to know your stuff. I'm taking PSC102 with Stauch now, and my comments would be exactly the same!

Stauch is really sweet and a great teacher!!! I generally don't like science but she presented the material well so I actually liked her class. You do a lot of group work and activities every single day which makes the time pass quickly. She breaks up grading into: journal, homework, poster group project, midterm, a few quizes, and final. So if you don't do well on something, you can still do really well in the class. The midterm and final are not that easy. Stauch is really caring and knew us all by name by the second week or so. She always asks how you're doing and truly cares. GREAT TEACHER and WONDERFUL PERSON ALL AROUND!!

Stauch is AMAZING! Take the class with her if possible. It is a hard subject, but she makes it so understandable. Coursework is not that hard at all. Just do what she asks!

She is amazing! Always willing to answer questions, stay after class, come early. For the final exam, she even opened up a lab in the science building on a sunday afternoon so that we could get sample questions and again, she was so willing to help! Awesome teacher - I highly recommend you take her!

Dr. Stauch is the first professor here at Cal Poly to actual show me that she cared about the students and how well we were doing in her class. She normally teaches middles school science, but this year she was transferred to Cal Poly and I hope she stays here! She uses her teaching methods from her middle school teachings and uses them in our class, it definetly makes the class more fun and more understandable. She really cares about her students and if you are falling behind or not understanding the material she takes you aside and helps you. She does a lot of cool experiments during class and there are homeworks that aren't hard, they just help you re-evaluate what you have learned. Also, she really helps future teachers by giving us suggestions of how to teach a certain topic. Overall you should take her she is very good.

Professor Stauch is the most fun and interesting professors at Cal Poly. She LOVES to teach and just wants to make sure you understand all of the concepts. She is fair in grading and is straight forward with what she wants you to know. The class consisted of Journals (due every class), Homework Assignments (which were easy and went with the class work), 3 midterms, and a final exams. She gives out study guides and is always willing to help you if you are having trouble. She is so cute and I absolutely loved going to her class even though one of them was on Friday at 2pm. Take her over any of the other Physical Science teachers...you'll love her!

Profesor Stauch was an excellent teacher. She knew how to connect withher students beyond the surface level. Furthermore she knew the content very well and could assist with any questions easily. She's very good at what she does and enjoys it too. Also she would bring in food for us and was an overall very kind person. If you have the chance take her!

Nancy is an absolutely wonderful professor and an even more amazing person. The work & tests you turn into her will be graded by the next class (almost always) & she is very helpful if you come to her with questions. If you have a choice TAKE HER! What a groovy gal.
