I'm just going to preface this with saying I'm horrible at chem. Always have been, probably will never change. Immoos is a cool guy, he really knows his stuff, and makes the 2 hour class pretty enjoyable. The quiz after every midterm will have "redo" questions from the midterm, and you can usually get back 5-10 points. GO OVER YOUR MIDTERM BEFORE THE QUIZ. The quizzes are incredibly easy, I got As on all of them. The midterms on the other hand are hard (for me). I got a C and a D. Somehow, I ended up with a B+ in the class.

Dr. Immoos is a really awesome professor. He understands that the subject matter he is teaching is hard and can be confusing, and so in lectures he not only gives clear explanations and opportunities to practice with the concepts, but he also is very encouraging and helpful. Dr. Immoos clearly cares about his students and helping them understand the material. Even if a student can't make it to his office hours, he will make time to help them, and in scheduled office hours he makes sure he individually talks to everyone as well as explaining concepts to the whole group. His quizzes and tests are fair, and he does give opportunities to raise a test grade on the subsequent quiz, if the average was low.I would definitely recommend him for lecture and lab courses.

Immoos is a really friendly guy. I found his lectures to be clear and convey concepts in a way that felt similar to the quizzes/exams. The lecture quizzes were pretty straightforward but the lab quizzes could be quite tough. Overall, 126 is a tough class but Immoos makes it very manageable. It's mostly the lab content that makes the course challenging but he's very helpful at office hours if you need assistance getting through the report forms.

Immoos started off the quarter strong. He was super helpful in office hours, presented the material quite well. I did great on both midterms, (A and a B+). Then all of a sudden, he seemed to just stop caring. Nothing he did in lecture made any sense to any of us, the labs were fine since it was pretty much just following the directions off the procedure. I dont know why he just all of a sudden turned from an A+ professor to a C- guy that hates his life, but i'm fairly disappointed now. He's started to quiz us on material we havent learned, then right after the quiz, we learn how to do the material. like what? But about him: He doesn't curve the class, but the quiz after each midterm has 4 or 5 problems off the test that get added to your midterm grade. Quizzes are difficult, both lecture and lab quizzes, none of which are dropped. He can be nice in office hours, other times he seems really unpatient if something doesnt click for you right away.

Immoos is the best! I am a biochem major so this class's materials did not present a particularly major challenge to me but it was all new material and Immoos was super clear about everything. The hardest part is he is a hard grader when it comes to lab reports. Go into office hours and he is super helpful. It is Immoos who encouraged me to start doing research on campus as a first year and now I will be leading a project as a second year. Also, he went above and beyond with helping me with my schedule for next quarter. He coordinated with the department head and my future OChem teacher to switch my OChem lab to get me into Quant Analysis this quarter. If not for him, my spring schedule would be a nightmare. He is a great guy and fun to just talk to. I really hope to get to take another class with him in the future. I can honestly say that Immoos is the best professor I have had here at Poly. Love you Immoos! I definitely recommend his class!

Professor Immoos is extremely funny. You have to attend class in order to pass the class. Study as much as your in class and more outside of class. He makes sure everybody understands the material before he moves on to another subject. I recommend taking him if your a chem major or taking a Ge.

I enjoyed Dr. Immoos' as a teacher. He lectured very clearly, and his tests were very fair. If you did the homework and understood his lectures, the tests should be relatively easy. He was funny and very very approachable. He is young and a new teacher, so he is very energetic and excited about Chemistry. I recommend him, but take him for both lecture and lab.

Chad is one righteous dude...He's incredibly smart and he always manages to blow up something during class. The class consists of 3 midterms, which are fairly difficult and a final that takes the full 3 hours. You will definitely learn a lot in that class and you shouold pass as long as you don't slack off. I would recommend him, but his class is very difficult, you might want to take an easier teacher if you're feeling uneasy about Chem, it's no walk in the park

Chad is the most friendly and approachable professor I've had here so far, no contest. He really takes the time to get to know his students on a personal level and show that he cares about how they do in the class (I think he new the name of every person in my class!) But aside from being a young, fun professor excited about a subject I reeeallllly don't enjoy, his lectures were decent. He didn't always know the answers to things and I fell asleep at times, but I had him for his first quarter teaching here, so he can only get better with time to learn which methods work and which don't. Tests were kind of hard, quizzes can be aced ONLY if you read the chapter and do the hw before. I'm taking Schoonover now and I kinda miss the fun we had in lab with the "Chadmeister". I'd definitely recommend him, but the class isn't a breeze. oh and Go to office hours!

immoos is a great guy and has a very interesting lecture. i learned a lot from him unfortunately it did not show in the grades i received. his test are extremely challenging, yet immoos is not afraid of admitting his mistakes and always makes up for them by giving out extra points which you still have to earn but at least he tries. overall he's a great professor

immoos tries to present material in a clear and simple way but clearly lacks presentation skills and his lectures are horrendously boring as a result. definetly knows the material and what hes talking about but doesnt always communicate what the class needs to know. tests and quizzes are pretty easy as long as you understand the concepts. i would recommend reading the sections in the book before he lectures them in class...way easier to comprehend and connect the ideas that hes lecturing about

This man rocks. This was my second time taking this class (it happens), and he was a truly awesome professor. He loves his students; I honestly believe he cares about every person's success. This is a hard class no matter who the teacher. DO THE SUGGESTED PROBLEMS, READ THE BOOK, ENROLL IN THE WORKSHOP, & you'll be fine. TAKE THIS GUY.

Dr. Immoos is a realy cool and overall nice guy. His lectures were well organized and his quizzes and tests were all very fair. I did not pass his class, but it definitely wasn't his fault. If you do his assigned reading, do his suggested problems, and actually go talk to him during office hours you will definitely pass the class! I didn't know how lucky I was having him as a professor until I got a really bad professor this quarter!

Dr. Immoos is a great guy. Even two quarters after taking his class he still says hi to me. He goes a little slow during lecture, but he makes sure that everyone understands his material. He is awesome at office hours. If you do a little outside reading on your own, you should do fine in his class.

chad did a great job with his class. he is very appoachable and knows all of his students by name. i had him in the lecture and lab and he was very fun and intersting. he was very helpful in office hours and was always willing to go over the homework problems (which are not collected). his test were challenging but overall this was a good class.

This teacher is the nicest man! He is very down-to-earth, funny, and willing to help. His lectures are kind of boring, but Chemistry is pretty hard to make interesting. In office hours he was extremely helpful, and in lab he makes everything as clear as possible. The tests and quizzes are pretty hard, so be prepared for that. Overall, I definitely recommend Dr. Immoos- you will learn a lot and have an understanding teacher.

Dr. Immoos is a great professor, he does a super good job of explaining a subject that a lot of people just can't get. I used to HATE chemistry, but after having him for two quarters, it wasn't so bad. He's always friendly, very easliy approachable and gets to know all of his students. Plus, tests and quizzes are pretty easy, he prepares you for exactly what will be on them.

Dr. Immoos is an excellent chem teacher. Yes this is a hard class, but its going to be just as hard if you take it with Keeling, Schoonover, Gragson, or any other teacher if not harder. Dr. Immoos is exceptionally good at presenting the material clearly in class. My only complaint is that the multiple choice is worth too large of a portion on midterms. It brings my grade way down when I can do all the calculations but mess up on the multiple choice.

You wont find a chem teacher who explains the material better, gives easier exams, or is more helpful than immoos. youd be stupid not to take him. go to office hours before the exams and youre guaranteed to do well. he straight up tells you he doesnt want to give you hard problems cuz he doesnt want to trick you and he doesnt feel like grading them, he just wants to see that you have a basic understanding of the material. the lectures are also pretty entertaining as well. def take immooss if you can.

Immoos is the man! He definitely is a cool guy to be in lecture with. I don't think there was one day the entire quarter that he didn't wear a collared shirt. He has a subtle childish humor about him, and sneaks some jokes into his lecture every now and then, just to see if you're paying attention. Chem 128 has a lot of challenging material, and overall I would say he provided well rounded information effectively. He never tests you on things that he does not talk about in lecture, so don't go sleeping with your book obsessively thinking that it will help. Immoos is very good with questions. The quizzes in his class were pretty challenging, and the midterms were tough too. I think the average on the second one was a 69%. His final is very fair though, and as long as you do the example problems in the book, and ask a few questions, you're golden! Take Immoos!

This was the second time i have taken chem 128. I will admit i am not proficient. I spent time in his office hours twice a week all quarter. Every time I went in there i was ignored so he could help the girls. I sent him numerous emails throughout the quarter regarding my success and he did not respond to any of them. I was not impressed at all by this little man.

ok so in general, I feel like 128 is way easier than 127. Mainly because you cover fewer chapters and the chapters all work together in the end. Imoose is super chill and he does some pretty stinking awesome lecture demos. We had an explosion one day (on purpose) that filled the class and the hall with smoke. It was so cool haha. Lecture is very very clear. He tells you what you need to know and pretty much everything you need to know, on the downside, class moves very slowly and he explains things like you are a kid some times (e.g. bigger is better... negative is happy, positive is sad) This can be good if you need more time to internalize information, but it can also get a little tiresome. Over all the class was really good and the tests and quizzes were pretty easy. Take him if you can! He is kinda funny

Dr. Immoos is one of the best instructors I've ever had!! He really enjoys chemistry and wants you to enjoy it too. He is very approachable; if he's in his office and you have questions or a problem he's always willing to talk to you, even if it isn't his office hours. He tries to prentend that he doesn't care about his students, but its so obvious. He really wants every one of his students to do well. He'll do anything to help you understand the material. He grades fairly lenently, but it was an upper division class, so I'm not sure how he is in general chemistry. I had him for both lecture and lab, and I wouldn't trade him for any other professor. He makes lab enjoyable, even if you keep getting 50's on your labs (which is pretty common in quant!) Definatley take him if you can for any class!! I would take him again for anything in a heart beat!

Dr. Immoos is a professor that really cares about his students. He will do anything that he can to help them. His tests do take the full hour and they are chanllanging, but if you study they are very do able. A few things that you need to remember going into the class: This is an unpper division CHEMISTERY class, so it is going to be challanging. Lab can be very difficult, it was the hardest thing for me, in lab do not stress about getting 50%, they are bad but everyone seems to get one of them before the course is over.

Dr. Immoos has been such an incredible mentor to me, I thought it only appropriate to put my two cents in. I had Immoos for lab during the Gen Chem series and then for lecture for quantitative analysis. His classes are challenging to the point that you feel well prepared for chemisty classes that follow, but managable enough so that if you put the time in, you can definitely do well. Quantitative analysis is a realm of chemistry that many students find tedious, difficult and boring (I am not one of these people) but Dr. Immoos is an excellent professor and I can think of no one that is better suited to deal with such a feared subset of this subject. I would never be in the place I am today in my life without the guidance of Dr. Immoos and I highly recommend him.

Immoos is incredibly helpful in lab, but he follows the grading policies he outlines at the beginning of the quarter very strictly. There isn't really any room for error in this class; I worked my ass off for a B the entire quarter, and I was one of the top students in the class. If the class as a whole is struggling, he offers curves and/or make up opportunities, but that doesn't make the material any easier. Just be ready to work hard if you're in quant.

Immoos is a great person, but I would avoid taking him for inorganic lecture. I came into the class hoping to gain a solid foundation of inorganic chemistry that I could use in graduate school. However, I feel like I was let down. Immoos does not thoroughly explain concepts in class and leaves us to (attempt to) explain things that could have been covered in lecture. He is a very smart guy, but this class was a bit of a let-down.
