Professor McDaniel is the best BRAE professor I've had yet. He's new to Poly and apparently hasn't forgotten how to relate to students. I highly reccomend taking him for any class. Just go to class and do the assignments and you will get a B. I'm going to take him for any class I can.

Professor McDaniel is the worst professor at Poly. PLEASE DON'T TAKE HIM FOR YOUR OWN SAKE. He makes you work on his junky cars all class and then when you finally actually fix soemthing he just breaks it. He is also obsessed with towing large numbers of trailers. One assignment was you had to call the CHP and ask how many trailers you are allowed to tow. The class field trip was to the Goodwill car lot. Unless you share the life ambition of owning a junkyard with Professor McDaniel please don't take this class!!!

Professor McDaniel is the most awesome professor! My assignment for the class project was to put together a cost-benefit analysis of wrecking an automobile. He basically provided the funds for me and my classmates to buy a junky car from goodwill and crash it all over San Luis Obispo! It was the most awesome thing ever! Then we got to tow it to his backyard, where he is starting an auto wrecking yard. This guy is great.

THIS GUY IS THE WORST PROFESSOR EVER TO TEACH AT CAL POLY. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A TRACTOR DRIVING CLASS....I NEVER SET FOOT NEAR A TRACTOR, BUT I RODE AROUND IN A BUNCH OF CRAPPY CARS....THIS GUY IS NOTHING BUT A COUNTRY BUMPKIN JUNKYARD OWNER PRETENDING TO BE AN AG ENGINEER. YOU WILL LEARN NOTHING IN THIS CLASS, AND HE WON'T LISTEN TO ANY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. WHEN I TOLD HIM THAT IT MIGHT NOT BE A GOOD IDEA TO TAKE STUDENTS OUT WRECKING UNINSURED UNREGISTERED CARS, HE LAUGHED AT ME. WHAT A JERK.

Where do I start? This class was about internal combustion engines. You would think the guy teaching it would be good at working on them. On the first day, during lab, McDaniel broke off a water pump bolt into the block while he was stripping the air conditioning gear out of a truck. Then, he kept driving out to Los Osos Miner's during every lab just to buy another stupid tap and die. You should have seen this guy try to put an intake manifold back on a truck. He lectured us about it, then he couldnt even get the bolts to go back in, not to mention he lost half of them..... Most of his lectures involve rambling on about his college days when they used to buy Goodwill cars and 'take em out wreckin'. McDaniel also has many obnoxious habits, including wearing an orange budweiser hat to class. This guy is the biggest scam of public university system history.

McDaniel is a joke! I didn't learn shit about water during the entire course. Instead of teaching us about water management, during lecture he showed us videos and slideshows of him and his buddies wrecking cars. And seriously, what is with the damn orange hat, im surprised this guy isn't missing any teeth, he is the biggest bumpkin at Cal Poly. Ever seen McDaniel driving around campus? You cant miss him, because he peels out around every corner, has that obnoxious dixie horn, and best of all, he drives his truck with open headers - i think this asshole is trying to piss everyone off. My favorite story about McDaniel is when he broke a pipe at the ITRC testing facility and they had to shut down the entire system, all because he was trying to replace a rusty bolt. Wasn't even the right size bolt either, he said that he got it off his truck and it would be much better than the one being used. Professor McDaniel needs to go back to his junkyard and stay there forever, he is a nuisance to society and an embarrassment to Cal Poly.
