I resisted general psychology for six quarters and I am thankful that I did so because it enabled me the pleasure of Professor Niedhart. She made this very boring class a wonderful experience and even made the section on the inner workings of the brain interesting. I actually looked forward to each class although it was 3-hours each day (summer class). She presents the course material in a clear, straight-forward manner and her exams contain no surprises. If you attend class and take notes you will score well on the exams. Katie is unbiased in her presentation of male/female roles and problems and she opened my eyes to many of our inculcated stereotypes regarding gender roles. The entire course was fascinating (except for how the brain works) and I learned a tremendous amount about human nature. If you need any psychology class, you **MUST** take Katie; I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Katy Neidhardt is a great teacher. You have to go to her lectures AND PAY ATTENTION or you're straight screwed. She has many questions on her tests from stuff that was just mentioned in her lecture, but if you were involved then you will remember it easily. She has some equality issues that she brings into her class, but besides that I liked her a lot. Also, she will have one of the answers on her tests being entirely rediculous- so it's like she's giving the points away. And her final is not cumulative, so once you learn something for a test, you do not have to re-learn it for the final. Overall, a great teacher.

This professor has a really great personality, which I think helps us who are taking the class for general education. The class actually turned out to be very interesting and a lot of things I will probably never forget about. She teaches the material well and has powerpoint print-outs for the unmotivated students that you just fill in as the lecture progresses. Easy class and the professor makes the material very interesting. I would take the professor again.

I reccomend taking her because I found her lectures very interesting and I actaully wanted to go to her class. The work load is not that much, a paper, two tests, and a final.

Katy is a decent professor. She lets the class talk at her lot, which kind of hinders the learning of the subject, and often goes overtime. Before each test, she gives a study guide that tells exactly what's going to be on the test so it's easy to get a good grade. The class consists of 2 midterms, 1 short essay, and the final. The final is NOT cumulative, and is worth the same as 1 midterm. Very fair. Be careful not to miss class, because she does a few activities that are worth points. She shows lots of clips, which are usually interesting. She's sweet, but it all comes down to your studying habits!

Katy is by far the nicest professor I have had since I started at Cal Poly. She presents the material really well and does an excellent job of trying to make the material easy to understand. Take notes during class of things that she emphasizes that may not necessarily be on the slide show print outs. This will help because she does hold you accountable for everything presented in class. The class was really fun, I enjoyed going to it. The tests are pretty easy just make sure you fully understand ALL of the concepts and vocabulary. Great professor! I would definitely recommend taking her for Psychology.

Katie was my favorite teacher at Cal Poly so far. She's really entertaining!!! Just remember to come to class because most of the stuff on tests is in her lectures. No need to read for every single class, but review the study guide and look through the book before tests.

I absolutely loved Neidhardt's class. She is the best professor I have had at Cal Poly, and her lectures were always well organized and interesting. Most of the exam questions are from lecture, but if you want to do well you should do the study guides that she posts on line for each chapter. There is no homework, no quizzes, no bull shit busy work. The class is very to the point. She is also very understanding and helpful. I HIGHLY recommend Neidhardt.

Every lecture started out with a funny video, and ended about 30 minutes early (which was good for a evening class). The lectures are crucial, don\'t miss them, but they are good enough that you want to go to them. The grade is based on midterms and final, so study in whatever way works, I read the book, read notes, and did the practice quizzes on BlackBoard, whatever works for you.

Neidhardt knows her stuff and she makes the lectures interesting by adding video clips and some humor. We usually got out 30 minutes early. I enjoyed this class and learned a lot. I did read the book and answer her learning objectives which helped quite a bit.

She has excellent teaching methods that kept me interested even though my class was in the evening. She is funny and engaging. If you choose to take this class, don\'t miss a single day no matter what! It makes a big difference with your grade. You\'ll want to go to this class anyways. She shows clips of tv shows during lectures and we got out early a lot. Take this class!

Katy is so amazing! I had her at 7am and I didn\'t complain about it! Her teaching method is awesome. She have a way of holding your attention! Her lectures are really interesting! I got a B- because I did so bad on the first midterm.. I thought since this was a GE that most people take, it would be easy, and I did not need to study. I was wrong and got a F on the first midterm! So don\'t make the same mistake I did!! Do the readings and take the practice quizzes on blackboard!! The practice quizzes totally help. Most of the time the lecture part on the tests are examples of cases so make sure to you pay attention to that. But remember do the readings! :] if you want an A in her class!

Katy is an amazing professor! I had the class T/R 6-8 and I thought I would hate having a late class but it was the one class I looked forward to the most! She is super outgoing and passionate about psychology which makes the lectures really interesting and upbeat! The majority of her test questions came directly from the lecture. I didn\\\'t read the book and managed to get B\\\'s on all the test and the final is not cumulative. You get points just for coming to class and signing in on certain days, which she calls activities. (often during the class after tests!) There is a 5 point (toward any test you want) extra credit assignment that is really easy. Overall I would say she is an amazing teacher and that you should take this class if you get the chance!

I would definitely recommend this class! I\'m a psych major so the course was already of interest, but her lectures made it even better. The grade is based off of 5 class assignments which were mainly just to show up, a one page paper, two midterms, and a final (Non cumulative!). As long as you go through the chapter objectives and study your lecture notes and A isn\'t hard at all.

Katherine Neidhardt is one of the best teachers I will probably ever have at Cal Poly. Every single one of her lectures were interesting. I had her class from 6:00 to 8:00 at night twice a week but I literally looked forward to it. Her lectures are funny, informative, and engaging. She begins each class with a video clip relating to the subject matter to get you interested and thinking. She doesn\'t take role but on 5 days (random) there is some very small and easy assignment in class. On these days she takes attendance and if you\'re there you get full credit on the activity. Besides that, there\'s no homework except a one page essay at the end of the quarter. Her midterms are easy if you paid attention during her lectures and read the chapters (the book really isn\'t too bad. the author throws in little jokes here and there to keep you going.). I highly recommend Katy. If you get her you won\'t regret it.

A GREAT teacher! A very interesting and funny class! Way fun and easy! Katy is hillarious and the class goes by in a breeze. Worth taking and she grades 90-100 is an A. The tests were fair and not too challenging if you did the study questions - it usually only took me about an hour of studying for an A! Also, extra credit opportunity and a quick 2 page paper for 5% of your grade (or something like that).

no homework, no quizzes, nothing; you just have to attend class for credit. Of course, there is more emphasis on your exams since she does not assign graded work (recitation accounts for 15% rather than the maximum 25% if i remember correctly). The lectures are to-the-point and helpful, and the quick review sessions before each test are great. In summary, shes a good professor and the psy202 course itself is really quite interesting. An all around awesome professor. There is no extra work for her recitation, and all you have to do is simply show up once a week for an easy 15% of your grade. She is very laid back, funny and very helpful when it comes to learning the material. She also boosted our grades on the one paper we had to write for the class, which was pretty nice. Definitely recommend her.

Katy Neidhardt knows people. You could show up to any of her discussion sections for PSY 202. She used discussion section time to reinforce lecture material, highlight case studies from the text, and spoon feed you material on the 3 exams for the PSY 202 lecture. She is a very fun, energetic, and youthful professor who noticably relates to our stress as college students. I'm so glad I had her as my discussion section professor. She made this GE much more enjoyable.

i think this was Katy's first quarter to teach Personality, but she did a pretty good job. she presented the material clearly, sometimes it was a little boriing, but Katy is a very kind and easygoing person. she's not there to stress you out at all. she gives you great study guides before 3 tests. theres a big paper, but it's very informal so it's easy to write. she's a great teacher.

Katy is a great lecturer. She presents the material clearly, using Powerpoint, giving students an easy to follow presentation. All of the handouts are placed on blackboard, so students have access to the course material. Throughout the course, there are several homework assignments, which are rough drafts for the final research proposal. Although the paper may seem like daunting task, if you keep up with the homeworks, putting the paper together is not too much harder than copying and pasting. Labs in the class were fairly simple and we always reviewed them in class, so they were easy points to get, as long as you showed up. There were two exams in the class and Katy gave the class a detailed review which was exceedingly helpful. The textbook reading is not necessary. Katy does give learning objectives which cut down on the amount of reading. Going to office hours was incredibly helpful for this class as Katy is more than willing to assist student in learning and improving their work.

Katy is an awesome professor, and I highly recommend her. Her class and policies are outlined very clearly, and she's always helpful if approached after class or at her office hours. You don't need the textbook, because her lectures are very thorough (all Power Point --- but not boring!!). She is young and has a fresh teaching style, a nice break from some of the other professors I've had at Poly. She's really funny and friendly, so classes go by quickly. You get out at least 30 minutes early every class. The main course project is a 5-7 page research proposal, but you basically build up to it over the course of the quarter. Just keep up on the three homework assignments and you'll be able to put them all together for the final report. There are two tests, and neither is that difficult. She does great reviews right before each exam, and she means it when she says she's not trying to trick or surprise you. Definitely take this professor if you have a chance...you won't regret it!

Katy is such a great teacher. I was dreading this class but she made it not only interesting but not that hard as well. There are two tests and the research proposal (5-7 pages) which she breaks into homework assignments so you are basically working on your paper all quarter which makes it pretty easy to put together in the end. Katy is very approchable and really knows her stuff. She made class fun and has a great sense of humor. The first test (all mult choice) is way easy if you go to her review, the second one was a little more challenging (mult choice and short answer) but I think it was just because the material got harder. Go in and talk to her if you are having problems with anything, shes great at explaining stuff. Great teacher, definitly reccomend her.

Katy is the biggest sweetheart, very knowledgable and willing to help you out. I dreaded this class because it sounded really hard but the material is presented in such a concise and clear manner it was really manageable. Take her and dont wait till the last minute to sign up. There is one midterm that is EXTREMELY easy, a bunch of 10-pt homwework assignments that reallly help with your final paper so do a good job. Material sometimes interesting but class was really good.

Katie is a moron. Go to her office hours and she'll tell you your papers fine and then you wont get full credit on it. What the hell? And she thinks its ok for women to be sexist but not men. I liked this class because she made it very clear what was expected of us! She gave us handouts on how to do everything that was needed for the qrt. and my favorite part was that she put her notes on blackboard so it made it very easy to follow the lecture in class. Stay on track with the 3 hw assignments because if you do them well, your paper will be basically done for you. I would take her again and recommend her for any class she teaches!

Katy is just an amazing professor. I think I was probably the one who always laughed stupidly at her jokes, but I really think she was the most hilarious professor I've had thus far. The reason people do bad in her class is because they are not willing to take the time to actually LEARN! She is willing up until the final paper to read rough drafts and give you advice, and if you fix the mistakes you will do excellent! Her first midterm is a joke (and she knows it) because she is such a tough grader on the papers. But really, if you do a good job on the three homework assignments, you will basically have the final paper done for yourself except for maybe an hour of editing. Katy know her material and is actually YOUNG, which is such a breath of fresh air in the psych department. She is one of the best professors I've had, and everyone must take her for Research Methods!

First, this course has a very dry topic, unless a professor works fire eating into their lecture, this class will always be somewhat boring. That being said, Katy does an awesome job of making the class interesting. She ties the topics of the course to really interesting experiments that have been done. She also tries her hand at humor. The course work is not difficult because she presents it very clearly and one piece at a time. There are 3 homework assignments that will all work into your final research proposal, and there are 2 exams. Katy does a thorough exam review at the class meetings prior to the tests, and for homework assignments and the research proposal she gives you examples and is always available to answer questions. Be very careful with APA style in all of your assignments, this is where you can lose a lot of points.

Neidhardt is an excellent teacher! the subject matter is incredibly dry but she realizes this and makes a great effort to keep it as entertaining as possible. I was dreading taking this class just because of the subject matter, but Katy definitely made it easier for us. To do well in the class, you should try your best on the homework assignments because she takes off points for little mistakes that is easily overlooked. Plus, if you do the HW well, your final paper will be easier to put together. The midterm was easy, the final was a bit more challenging but that's because the second half of the class was all statistics so its easy to get all the terminology mixed up, just practice those problems that she gives so you know how to apply what she lectures on. Go in and talk to her at least a couple times about your final paper just to make sure you're on the right track. I'd say the hardest part about this class was coming up with a good research topic--it gets confusing and depending on your topic could get overwhelming...so seek advice early on!

Class was interesting and she tried her best to make it fun and engaging. She seems really nice but stay on her good side. For some reason she didn't like me and I would get 100% on midterms and everything but she would grade subjective stuff really terribly. Take points off for things that shouldn't have been. She must hold bad grudges for whatever she didn't like me for!!

POSITIVE: I had Neidhardt at 7 am Tuesday's and Thursday's and we all know 7 am is GOD AWFUL. She always had so much energy which was nice early in the morning but got annoying after a while. The midterm/final are very straight forward and she tells you what to study NEGATIVES: I have never tried so hard in a course and gotten this grade (I have never gotten a C before this class). She is fucking ANAL about APA style and doesn't even care about the content you write on all FOUR of your papers, just the tiny tiny details nobody cares about. I have friends who tell me Research Methods was the easiest psych class they ever took so I WOULD SUGGEST TAKING A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR IF POSSIBLE! This was the hardest psych class I've ever taken!
