Doreen is the best teacher I have had at Cal Poly, she is a very fair grader, a great lecturer and genuinely concerned about her students. She goes against the theory that those who can't do teach because she is also the commisioner on the County Planning Comminsion so she really knows the material well.

I learned that if I were to take up hunting, I should shoot deer, not bears, because a bear will hunt me back if I successfully wound it. Fascinating! I didnt know that the key to production and operations management was so brutally simple!

Doreen Liberto Blanck: Feminazi incarnate. Who better to teach a class on dispute resolution than the woman who sued the City of Arroyo Grande because they didn't offer a different job to her..... because she's a woman. This class is a ridiculous waste of time. She gives you information in the form of wannabe intellectual readings and demands you parrot those same notions back in papers. The remainder of the class is taken up with dispute simulations which prove even more how inexperienced this woman is. If you have a chance, take Melodey Kreimes' section... at least she has experience in resolution. The irony with Liberto-Blanck, is that when she actually did get into a dispute with a student, she failed to employ any of the resolution tactics mentioned in class and instead chose to make a federal case of it. As a card-carrying feminazi, Liberto-Blanck will show clear favoritism towards the females in the class. Don't be fooled by her "Masters in Dispute Resolution" from Pepperdine... this woman does not know what she's talking about, and I felt dumber having taken the class.

Doreen is an outstanding professor. She is very approachable and friendly with us, giving us the feeling she really cares and is interested in our careers. She is a dynamic speaker, and talks from both personal experience in the field, and her academic work. We are really fortunate to have her in the department. Doreen also draws out students who are shy. She balances the classes so everyone gets to participate. She is also good at bringing in speakers, and keeps the class stimulated. Her lecture style really gets all of us thinking. She stimulates our ideas, and encourages us to speak up. She does not lecture down to us. We get the sense we are on an equal level with her. Her assignments are fun. Often, we will work out class scenarios that have to do with conflict resolution. She also gives a good sense of the legal requirements of planning. She is my favorite instructor.

Mrs. Liberto-Blanck is a phenomenal teacher. She has probably taught me more about planning than any other professor, or any other professional I have come in contact with in the field of planning--and I have been in several internships. This evaluation is my way of saying "Thank you!" You are one of the finest people I know, and I think you are one of the best people in the field I have met. You are a credit to the planning profession. I really mean what I am saying. My career (or budding career) has been influenced more by you than anyone I can think of. I consider you a friend as much as a teacher.
