This teacher doesn't even have her doctorate, she comes to class right out of the swimming pool. She is cheery and excited at the beginning of class as well as at the end or when she gives up and lets us leave early. But during the actual part of the class, she is less then excited about what she is teaching... how to write a paragraph...because it is remedial english.. which is a big pain.. but if you didn't do well on the placement test. YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT! I do hear from her more advanced literature students that she has a few more brain cells than i may give her credit for... but when it comes to remedial english, she does not like teaching it. Since the class is a remedial class I personally think that she should be excited and motivating to us because of our low test scores, yet she isn't. Those who do take English 102 with her should be glad to hear she doesn't give much homework if any at all, she assigns paragraphs for the first 5 weeks and then finally starts with the essays which are only 4 of them starting at week 6. She grades all of the essays very difficultly, yet all you need to pass her class is a "Credit" from a profolio at the end of the year and a pass from her. She enjoys ending class early and pretty much doesn't care if you don't attend class. So my advice to those who take her class is just to be prepared for a some what of an easy ride, yet a tedious, boring, and tiring ride none the less.

First off, PK is a hot cougar. Or at least I wish she was a cougar. She\'s a pretty easy grader, she\'s enthusiastic, she allows you to revise your papers, and she\'s easy to talk to. We did 3 essays and a 1 page summary. She didn\'t make us do the other 1 page summary that we were supposed to do. Although she can get off-beat at times, her lectures will help you a little with your writing.

Her lectures are unorganized and incoherent. She is somewhat helpful with drafts, but she is not capable of integrating current events into her class. She tries, but she is not good at it. When she prepares the class for an assignment it is very difficult for her to stay on task.

this woman is very nice and enthusiastic, but not smart enough to be a professor. she does not lecture, but instead asks for the students opinions-which are irrelevant most of the time. i did not feel like she taught us anything about the books we read. they were good books, but for each one she allowed only about a 20 min discussion, in which none of the important themes were discussed. this class is for people who do not care about english.

This is a great class. The professor is very clear and nice. There is no extra work and she's very fair. You only have to read 2 books for the quarter and there are no tests on the books. The mid-term was a take-home and there was no final, just a research paper. There are three papers total and you basically get to write about anything you want. The professor is really nice and laid-back. She always let us out of class early. I totally recommend this professor!

i haven't even received my grade for the quarter yet but i feel that it is necessary to give her a review. i do not rip on people for the sake of it, but P.Kuznetsoff really needs some work. she hardly ever prepares for class and grades papers really hard without giving you her grading criteria. when she says something controversial she'll play it off as a joke. as far as energy, she packs punch but you won't learn much and probably half of your reading logs she returns, she's never read. she is not a hard professor per say but she can't teach college english. we had a research paper due at the end of the quarter that compiled the majority of our grade.

Ok this class was a joke. She assigns essays with no format or guidelines to go by so you basically have to wing it, then she tears your paper apart because you didn't do things to her liking. She's such an airhead-it took her till the end of the year to figure out which days our class met on. If you want to take a class where you're made to read out loud like your in 5th grade, then this is the class for you. What a shit class.

I could not stand her. She never explained what she wanted for a paper, yet would criticize you for not fulfulling the requirements. If you asked a question, she would go off on a tangent that wasnt even really related to what you asked. She was always late and never returned any work in a reasonable amount of time. Her grading was a joke. Do anything not to get her.

Kuznetsoff is easily the worst teacher I've had in my 2 and a half years at Poly so far. I had her for a 50-minute class 4 days a week, and this was the typical day: she comes in 10 mintes late (EVERY DAY), talks about her poodle and her "significant other" for 20 minutes, and the remaining 20 minutes are reserved for pointless second grade activites like looking at magazine ads or reading out loud. With classwork, she would assign big essays and then not tell us the directions, then get mad at students for not following directions (go figure). Even when we asked her specifically about the parameters of the assigned essays, she would mindlessly talk in cirles and not say anything important, leaving us with no standards to go by. To give an accurate assessment of her grading, I will tell you this: I have always considered writing as my best asset and English as my best subject, I wrote for a professional newspaper in high school and the Cal Poly newspaper in college(receiving high praise on both occasions), and I have always pulled A's (a few B's) on every writing assignment and essay I've ever had. With Kuznetsoff? Mostly C's and D's, coming out to a C- in the class. You might wonder how she helps students learn, right? Well, to assess that aspect of her, I'll tell you about one of my essays: I received a D on the first essay, and I was very surprised, obviously. I went to her office hours to talk to her about it and she kept trying to change the subject away from my paper, even randomly telling me about how her daughter had sex with a guy on the bus when she was in high school. Odd situation for a student to be in. Anyway, I finally got her to admit that she hadn't even read my paper, and she said that she didn't need to read it to give me the grade. Ridiculous. Cal Poly students don't pay over $1300 a quarter in tuition so we can write essays that no one reads and get C's and D's for our hard work. Kuznetsoff ain't worth a dime, I would pay to NOT have her. Avoid her at all costs.

Patricia Kuznetsoff is an "ok" teacher, no more and no less. She doesn't clarify what she exactly wants for her essays that she assigns and is very scatterbrained when it comes to assignments and class topics. Worst teacher I have had at Cal Poly by far. This is my only C at Cal Poly and I have received an A in every other English class I have taken. She is doesn\'t show up to office hours, when I made an appointment to meet up with her she was \"sick.\" And she was sick often. Always let us out of class very early (it was a two hour class) which was awesome until classmates and I noticed it started to effect our grades since we weren\'t learning what we needed to know. Basically it all comes down to your first essay. Make sure its amazing and you can write shit for the rest of the quarter and she\'ll give you decent grades. PK is nice. SHe sucks at teaching. class is a waste of time, yet mandatory. she asks realyl stupid questions that a 5th grader can answer. Class consists of sitting there, listening to her ramble about random shit that has nothing to do with the class and then she has you get in groups nearly every day to discuss random topics. her essays are exactly like english 134. EXACTLY. i used some of my same essays and jsut reworked them. She has quizzes that consist of normally one question that she pulls out of her ass but are really specific so be sure to do your reading. Dont print out the articles she tells you to, youll never use them in class and its just a waste of paper and ink. Essays arent hard, but shes vague and doesnt really tell you what she wants you to write about. i got a 70% on my first essay because i wrote on the wrong topic. not because im stupid, but because she didnt clearly define what she wanted.

Her class is really willy nilly, and she likes to do a lot of random sh*t. You have to read a ton of articles, and do a lot of pointless things in class. With her grading on papers you have to pick up on what she likes; topic sentences and out there info. She's a bizarre grader, but if you can hone in on what she likes to see, you'll do well. Also, you can definitely miss her class. She says you get 3 absences before you get half a grade drop, i got B's on all my papers, a C on the midterm (One page essay about how to use ethos/pathos/logos in your 2nd paper), and missed 10 classes or more. Overall, I would say this class is just a fine class. It is not too difficult or time comsuming, but effort must be done to get an A in the class. However, PK clearly lets students know her expectations (she is clear, gives sample examples of A papers)she gives you a comprehensive list of all assignments, due dates, essays, and tests that will be completed throughout the quarter. A total of 4 of essays must be done, 3 of them are 3-4 pages, and the final is 8-10 pages. She is not an easy grader, but I have gotten A-'s on all papers and i would say that I am a fairly good writer, but nothing special. With hard work you can get an A. There are nightly reading assignments that do take some time, but are not too hard, and their are random short quizzes on the reading assignments, so you do actually have to read. Overall, this class is not easy, but it is not that hard, effort has to be done to do well on essays, but this class I would say is just fine, and she would be an okay teacher to take.

Prof PK is a great professor to take for English 145. She assigns essays with reasonable lengths: three 3-4 page papers, and a final 6-8 research paper (She made it shorter from past quarters). Her lectures are always interesting, and she has a great energy in the classroom. Going to office hours will really help, and she basically tells you everything she's expecting from you in the essays. The one thing I noticed is that she tends to give higher grades to students who write papers that she finds original or creative, even if their writing skills is not as great as another. So being good at generating new and contemporary topics is a plus coming into this class.

PK expects a lot of time dedicated to this basic GE class, but I really like her, so it made the time commitment more bearable. PK is a true teacher who actually wants students to earn A's, however, you must actually earn them. There's a rhetorical analysis, argumentative paper, and proposal essay, that range from 3-5 pages, and an 8-10 page research paper in the place of a final. One tip to be successful in her class: ATTEND OFFICE HOURS! She provides 4 times during the school week and sets up weekend hours on campus when a paper is due the following week. PK is a pretty good teacher. Her class was pretty simple and she didn't ask too much from the students. The work for the quarter was about 5 summaries in the beginning, multiple easy readings, three 3-4 pg essays, and one 8-10 pg essay for the final. Class goes by super quick because she's always about 5-10 minutes late and can honestly go off on a totally non relevant topic for like 20 minutes. She's very kind and light-hearted. I liked this class because she wasn't like some english teachers who try to get you to be all deep and what not with what you're learning about. You can easily bullshit all the essays and get a B.

What I am giving her is probably the grade she is giving me. She acts like she cares about her students, but really she talks about them to other sections. She seems like a cool lady if you break through her shell. But be warned, she will judge you on everything you do, and don't even try to understand why you got a certain grade on an essay. PK is confusing...I would say that compared to other teachers I've heard of, she really isn't that bad of an option. There are 3, 4-5 page papers and a 10-12 page final research paper and that's it. I personally could not stand going to this class every day and her grading is confusing. She's not that harsh of a grader, but don't expect to learn anything about writing. She would circle the "C" and "D" section of the rubric but then give me a "B" on my papers? Like I said, don't expect to learn much. Professor PK is one of my favorite English teachers that I have had the pleasure of having. The class may seem boring at the beginning of the quarter with lots of homework assignments that seem like busy work. But everything you do in this class is for a reason and PK wants you to know that. She is the sweetest person (but don't be deceived, she does grade difficultly) and you can tell that she cares about each one of her students. If you are struggling definitely go to office hours, she will be ecstatic that you came and try her best to help you develop your ideas. Make sure to participate so she can learn your name, and make sure to go to class (every class you miss after 4 absences is 5% off your final grade). 2 3-5 page papers and an 8-10 page research paper at the end of the quarter. Overall, I'd definitely recommend taking PK for 145.

I really liked PK's class. She's kind and energetic and explains all of the assignments in class before you do them. If you're ever confused about something, she replies to e-mails very quickly. That being said, she does expect a lot from your writing and expects you to put time into your papers. PK has lots of office hours, so if you go to them and ask about your papers it's very helpful. There were lots of PolyLearn assignments at the beginning of the quarter which were kind of annoying to do and tok a bit of time, but they really help you for when you write your essays. Like everyone else said: two 3-5 page papers and an 8-10 page (including works cited) final research paper. Your grade is: 20% for each of the 3-5 page papers, 40% for the final paper, 10% for participation (PolyLearn assignments, talking in class, showing up to class, etc.), 10% midterm (a multiple choice vocab quiz). This class definitely takes time and effort, but if you work hard you can get a good grade.

Harsh grading, sometimes pointless lectures depending on the day, and no help from office hours. This may sound harsh, but the huge amount of work put into this class was not worth it, as she would have given me the same terrible grades on essays as she would have if I hadn't tried as hard. I approached her in office hours to analyze my essay and ask why she graded so so so harshly and she simply made excuses as to why I did a terrible job and wrote like an elementary schooler. PK is a super fun lady and a great english professor. She's approachable and understanding which was very helpful throughout the quarter. The class in general is 2 essays- one smaller essay and one 8-10 research paper (40% of grade- but it counts as your final). Her day to day lectures are pretty worthless so if you like to skip classes this is a good one to ditch occasionally, you will likely not fall behind. However, while the daily lectures are mundane, PK is by no means an easy grader. You only have a few important assignments, but you really need to work hard on them to do well!! Try to avoid even if it means taking ENG 145 another quarter/year. I read the PolyRatings about her and took her anyway... BIG mistake. She grades ridiculously harshly, even if you show your essays and summaries to the CP writing center and they help you and tell you its fine, she will STILL give you a C. All she wants is a "college level" vocabulary so just use a bunch of big words to make it seem like you know what you are talking about. Her lectures are all wastes of time, she rambles for ages. For a 50 minute class, it feels like a regular 2 hour lecture. Office hours won't help you, all she does is ask you questions and answers your questions with yet another question. She doesn't make an effort to learn individual students names, maybe just a handful. 10/10 a joke, rip my GPA :(

Worst professor. She is heartless and grades excessively hard for no reason, yet she doesn't teach you how she wants you to write. Avoid taking her. She seems to be a nice person until she gives you an F on everything you do, and has no explanation as to why she is grading you this hard, especially on things like a summary or small assignment. PK is very friendly towards her students and tries to make the class relevant to current trends. However, her grading standards are ridiculous. Even if you go into her office hours and she helps you with your work, she still gives horrible grades. She assigns essays with no format or guidelines and just posts them to polylearn after reading them aloud in class, but she doesn't clarify exactly what she wants. You have to wing every assignment; then she gives you a terrible grade with no feedback or helpful input. This class should be offered online as there is no point in going to class. I write research papers multiple times a month for my major and get As on all of them, but PK would never give me anything above a C/B. I am almost positive she doesn't even read our papers and just randomly puts a grade on it. Other students would write the same way I did and get an A, and then I would get the C. Even after going to the writing center, she still gave me terrible grades when the people who read my essay said it was A worthy. Although I somehow ended with a solid B, it is very frustrating to put this much effort into a GE class and get disappointing results from a professor that does not explain anything or give any guidance. Try to get another professor at all costs as a GE should not be this difficult and unfair.

I am writing this as I am sitting in her class, that's how irrelevant and pointless her class is. I read all of her polyratings (even the ones that date back several years) before writing mine and I can confirm without a shadow of a doubt that she has not changed one bit. The quarter isn't even over and I can confidently write this because I've seen all of PK that I need to see. She is probably in her mid 60's if I had to guess, but based on her demeanor and clothing, it is blatantly obvious that she is trying to live out her unfulfilled dreams from college when she was 20. She tries to relate to her students in ways that end up alienating her from her students more because quite frankly a 60+ year old is never going to be able to relate to a group of teenagers. I only took this class to get it out of the way and she was the only teacher left with seats open (not surprising), but how I wish I would've waited until next fall to take it with a teacher who actually has any idea what they are talking about. She is obsessed with her image and how her students view her (which is as a ditz and a psychopath), instead of explaining any of the millions of assignments she has you do. Going to her class is absolutely pointless, however attendance is mandatory with the exception of 3 absences. This class comes with more busy work nightly than I guarantee anyone has time for, and even though there are only two essays, she is easily the hardest English teacher I have ever encountered. Going to her office hours was sometimes helpful and sometimes not, it's honestly hit or miss. She goes off on useless tangents in class (another attempt to fit in with her students) that only made me mad that I wasted my time going to her class. You have to track your own participation every single day which is literally the bane of my existence. Overall, if you can avoid her please do. She is irritating, never stops talking, but when it comes to your actual assignments, adjust your expectations. I got an A in English 134 that I took at cal poly last quarter and got an A, but I am going to get a B with a grace of god in her stupid class.

Great class if you're not an english major and just want to get it out of the way. Didn't learn a crazy amount but also wasn't very time consuming. Her grading is pretty fair and by the book as well. If you take the class I highly recommend studying hard for the core concepts exam because that was the only thing that was pretty hard.

After reading some of the above reviews I was not sure what to expect, but this was one of the easiest classes I have taken at cal poly. PK is a very nice lady and does not take attendance, the class also really only consists of reading 4 articles which are about social media and pretty interesting, and writing forums about them. Then you write 2 essays on literally anything you want which made them interesting to do. There is rarely homework and I only went to this class 2 out of 4 days a week and ended with a high B. I recommend this class to anyone looking for an easy workload! She does grade the essays kind of hard but she tells you exactly what she's looking for and what not to do, and provides tons of examples of past essays and their grades so just go off those. I barely went to this class but when I went it was honestly kinda enjoyable because we talked about social media like the whole time, definitely recommend!!

PK's Polyratings are unfair in my opinion. Sure, she's a pretty hard grader, but what ENGL professor isn't? The class itself is pretty easy, and we only had to write 2 full papers all quarter (and some really small other writing assignments). The articles and readings she assigned were actually pretty interesting, nearly all of them focused on social media and technology. PK is a really fun lady, I'd describe her as a super cool grandma. She was very friendly and approachable, I never dreaded going to her class. She was typically a few minutes late, let us out early (like, 20-30 min early) pretty often, and cancelled class a few times which was nice. Although she grades pretty tough on the writing assignments, you should still be able to get a B pretty easily. PK is a good choice for this GE, in my opinion.

PK!! Where do I start?? She is a sweet lady who was always extremely approachable in class and out of class. She tried to engage students and made class interesting and exciting. The class consists of 2 big papers and lots of small writing assignments. Although, the grading on the papers and summaries are not easy. PK expects a lot from her students and earning the A is difficult. She is really sweet and cares yet grades a little too tough. Great lady though.

I was not going to leave a comment, but I finished the quarter with her and it was not bad at all. The ratings on this page scared me and I thought I made a mistake choosing her, but honestly I am now glad I took her. She was very helpful (go to her office hours!!!) and made English bearable. Her grading is very harsh, but once I knew what she was looking for, I started to see the grades I wanted. Avoid To Be verbs at all costs!!!! You will be marked down for them (a full letter grade!) even on the small writing assignments. Once again, if you are unsure of something, GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS

Nice lady but unreasonably harsh grader, and she knows it. She talked about how ENG 145 was supposed to be a continuation from ENG 134 (which I got a high A in) but I can assure you she does not treat it that way considering for most of this class I was borderline B/C. I don't think she gave anyone higher than a 85 on any assignments, even people who spent hours working and going to her office hours. Most of our classes were a waste of time after the first 3 weeks because she doesn't lecture about anything useful and reads directly off what she puts on Polylearn. If you have to take 145 PK isn't the worst possible option, but I would recommend taking a different class other than 145 if looking to satisfy A3.

PK is literally the worst professor I've ever had. She is about as smart as the average high school student, making her classes a waste of time to attend. She is very unclear about how she wants her papers done which is fine but she then will proceed to destroy your paper when she grades it because you didn't follow her format (which she never presented). She is an airhead that constantly forgets what room her classes are in and is ALWAYS late. She also has us log literally every activity we do over the quarter documenting small things such as "raised my hand and said XYZ." The fact that she forces her students to document every thing they do in the class makes you feel like you are in second grade. I would rather drop out of Cal Poly than sit through one more class with this incredibly unorganized dimwitted woman.

I liked Kuznetsoff. This will be an easy class if you stay on track with your assignments, go to office hours, and I ESPECIALLY recommend following the student examples she provides for your assignments. She can be a harsh grader, which is tough because you never really know if she'll love or dislike your work (so go to office hours if you want clarifications on how to improve your work). I found her really funny and entertaining, and they were also 50 min. classes and she'd frequently let us out early, which was nice. She was one of my first college professors, and although she did not resemble the stereotypical professor that I had in mind, she made the college transition a lot easier and less intimidating for me. If you are really serious about English I maybe would not recommend this professor. But I really enjoyed this class, and although I got a B I found it pretty easy.

I am not a fan of English classes, but PK made this class as fun as it could be. The lectures are always entertaining, she loves getting the class involved and tries to pick easy topics to research/write on that the students can relate to or find interest in. There were only 3-4 real writing assignments, and with her cheery, carefree attitude during class it can be easy to forget she is a college level writing professor and will grade your writing accordingly. Don't try to bs your way through an essay the night before it's due. Since there are only a few big assignments, one bad essay could potentially ruin your grade, and she doesn't have an online grade book you can check, so you gotta stay aware of your grade with what she hands back (or you could probably send her an email asking for your official grade). Going to her office hours for some advice on an essay is an easy way for her to see that you are working hard and trying to do well on the assignment and can help your final grade in the end. She also loves in class participation, so try your best to raise your hand or throw in a comment whenever possible. Overall, she can be a little disorganized, but she makes the lectures entertaining and does her best to make herself available to students to help with their writing. This class wasn't easy for me, but PK definitely made it more enjoyable than I thought it was going to be.

I was TERRIFIED going into PK's class. The ratings are not fair and while she isn't the best prof ever, she doesn't deserve such awful ratings. I was expecting to end with a B or B- because I am okay at writing and the class seemed hard. I ended with a B+. If you go to class, office hours for questions, and participate a little it will pay off. Sometimes PK will assign things kind of last-minute or not really tell you what something is. But there is plenty of ways to make up bad grades. She as a "midterm" which is matching and fairly easy. I honestly didn't even open the books. It will have daily work but nothing too extreme. Don't procrastinate and don't be afraid to ask questions. She is super fun and her class was awesome and she let us out early a lot. ENGL 145 isn't an easy class and she wasn't a bad prof, but I would maybe take a different class for this GE.

There are a lot of negative reviews of PK on here, and I'm not necessarily the strongest when it comes to writing, so I was a bit sus going into this class at the beginning. Now that the class is finished, I can say that these reviews aren't necessarily correct. PK is not the absolute best at what she teaches, but she is a great professor and made this class survivable. As a math-swtiched-to-business major, I anticipated a C in this class, but I ended with a B+. In terms of specifics, PK is always trying to relate to the class and tries to present material as comprehensible as possible. She involves the class very much during her teachings, and class discussions were something daily. She always offered her office hours when she sensed that students might not understand what to do, especially around the days when your two (and only two) papers are due in this class. However, she won't always remind you about when assignments are due until it's too late, so it helps to check the course calendar throughout the entire quarter. My advice if you are enrolled in her class: participate in class discussions (because that's 5% of your grade) and go to office hours as much as you can. All in all, a good professor and a good experience in this class.

'Kutzy' wasn't as bad as some of the other comments suggest. Yes we did have to read in class, but you could get away with reading a paragraph once every couple of weeks. Her midterm was pretty easy, so she made the final hard. For the final, she gave us quotes from the reading and we had to determine who said it, which author wrote it, and explain the context. We also had two take-home essays, which she graded fairly. If you go to EVERY class and take notes, you should do fine. Her test material comes DIRECTLY from the lecture. Kutzy was very energetic and always happy. Some thought that was annoying, but for me, I needed all the encouragement I could get to sit through another english class.

Patti is an awesome teacher. Even though the class was early in the morning, she always kept me awake with her enthusiasm. You have to read about one novel a week, so make sure you keep up. There were quizzes for most of the novels, and two synopsis papers that weren't too hard. There is one midterm and one final. The one thing that is tough is that the paper is due on the day of the final, so in total 55% of my grade was determined on the last day. If you like those odds, take this class.

P.K. is an odd professor. She shows up late and lets you out early everyday. Class presents background info, some discussion, and even some dreaded in-class reading. PK is the biggest ditz! She tries WAY too hard to be your cool best friend, not just your professor. And while this may seem like a good thing, her credibility is severely lowered. She is somewhat enlightened when it comes to English, but she goes off on tangents about her cat that fetches (who the F cares!) and talks about her children horribly (she tells her friends that her kids are dull and makes fun of them for it- yeah, what a nice mother, eh?) She still wants to be a 20 yr. old, and she dresses and talks the part. In terms of class, grade based on midterm, final, journal synopsis + presentation, term paper, and reading logs (yes, you keep reading logs like your five yrs. old again). She is never quick at giving back tests, she gives bogus assignments, and she makes you read at least one book a week. Overall, if you can deal w/ her bubbly, ex-cheerleader attitude and you like reading a LOT, go for it. If you'd rather have someone you might actually learn something from and they act as the professional they're supposed to be, ditch PK.

Ok I waited and waited to take this class because I wanted to take it with Inchausti (which I should have done) and then I finally had to take it because nothing else would fit in my schedule. First of all, she needs to realize that we are in a SCHOOL and she is a PROFESSOR and what she wears is entirely inappropriate. Everytime I went to class I was shocked at her clothing. It seemed like as the quarter moved on, her skirt got shorter. I'm all for wearing what you want but god damn this isn't a strip joint. And, as a female myself, I wouldn't be comfortable wearing what she does and walking around campus late at night. I would be afraid someone would stop me and ask me how much for a hand job. Anyway, as to her teaching, in this class there is none. SHE DOES NOT TEACH. Every fricken day there's a presentation of the group who was assigned the book and THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO TEACH IT. How does that make sense? This isn't a book club. Then the final, midterm, and essays are ridiculous and she grades them insanely hard. I agree with the other people, I would have paid not to have her.

There's a one page essay due every week, she's an easy grader for those and you begin to like writing it, especially compared to the two big papers (3-4 pages) you have to write for the class. She grades pretty hard on those. The midterm and final aren't cumulative and are moderate,(hard if you didnt read and you're a bad writer) She's a great person who loves her job and to read. She's passionate about the books you read in the class and gives great background information on the authors and basically anything you read in the class. She did dress like she's very young, but it wasn't that big of a bother. I had her from 2-4 but we usually went only till like 3:15. If you enjoy reading I would take her but it's a lot of work, but anyone who has taken her loves her. She's pretty off the wall and funny, so it made class enjoyable!

She\'s really personable and fun in class. It keeps things interesting but at times she can be unprofessional. She teaches things in a really straightforward manner. She doesn\'t try to fool you with anything in class or any of her test questions. As long as you always take time to develop an argument and truly examine the text you are reading and include this examination/argument in the assignments you\'ll do very well in the class. There is one midterm and one final, which are pretty easy. Take the signification questions very seriously, and remember to develop an argument in your responses even if the instructions dont say to do so. There is a one page write up do every week that is actually pretty fun to do. There is a lot of freedom in her assignments, so you get to have fun with them.

I had this class four times a week, for 50 minutes. Every day she showed up 10 minutes late. She was bad about returning papers and a complete ditz. It really lowered her credibility and I lost my respect for her. She made up words all the time, for someone who loved the English language. PK was a pretty cool teacher. Though she was consistently late (read: every single day) and often dismissed class early, ENGL 253 is such an easy class that 4 hours a week is overkill for covering the material. She also brought her dog, Doodles, to class almost every day. Meh...considering no one really cares about English GE\'s she does a decent job keeping everyone entertained, but there was never a week the entire quarter that all four hours of lecture were necessary, and so the class started to drag a lot by the end. I\'d take her again, don\'t get me wrong. She\'s a solid \"B\" teacher.

Short and sweet: Professor PK is excellent. She listened well, critiqued kindly, and explored the intriguing societal and artistic side of literature in this course. I enjoyed the course. The reading list is well-thought out (a compilation of short novels and short-stories). The writers you study well-represent the time period. I enjoyed Camus and Hemingway most. PK was awesome! I can honestly say, I am not much of a reader or writer for that matter, but she was able to really get you interested in the material. She created a classroom where everyone felt comfortable to participate. It was a ton of reading, but well worth it. We read a lot of classic novels that I think everyone should have taste of. She can be a tough reader, so do not start making up information, she can tell. If you have to do reading logs, make sure to pull small quotes pertaining to your topic in your journal. She likes to know that you are really relating your entry to the book. Also, participate in class. When she asks someone to read, do it! It is not that bad, and she really does appreciate the effort. The work load is not that bad but when you get your papers back pretty much everybody found their grade to be incredibly low and unfair.
