Prof Hutchings was a good teacher, very fair. I liked the way he grades exams. He's always available, and is willing to make time for his students. He's a bit inexperienced, though.

Ian is an awesome guy. He is very open to help you out during office hours. Just go to class, take notes, and you should do fine on the tests. Ian is a great guy, very young, and I would definitely recommend taking him!!

I'm not very good at math, which is probably why I messed up my SATs and wound up here at Poly in the first place, but I still ended up getting an A in Ian's class. The reason I did so well is not really because Ian is an easy teacher, but because his was the first math teacher I've ever had that I could comprehend. His grading policy is also very fair, because students are pretty much guaranteed to pass this class if they attend class, do the homework, and show a little effort and desire to learn the material. His exams are also very fair. Ian does his best to minimize the "grind" that usually makes adversaries out of students and teachers. I hate math and I always will, no matter how great the professor might be. However, if you MUST take this course, having Ian as your professor is definitely a good way to go.

An awesome professor...any professor who likes the simpsons is in my good books. Clearly and effectively explains the material and is more than willing to go to any lengths to help out people. I was stuck on a problem on a midterm and he cut a bargain with me to reduce some of my points to get me through the sticking point, that's how nice he is. Highly recommended cause trust me, i suck at math and got an A due to his crystal clear explanations. Just wish that he was teaching Calc as well...

Wow. It is so hard to pay attention to math when you have a hot guy teaching you. ;) But, Ian still helped me through and I got a B! Which is great for me, I'm awful at math. He's really funny too. I took his class a long time ago, but I didn't hear about polyratings until now and I had to tell everyone how great he is!
