We had a portfolio of all the stuff we had done in the class up to that point with a cover page explaining how each assignment fulfilled some TPE such as student engagement. That assignment was hard because I didn't know how to explain how this assignment met this requirement at first. She let me re-do it and I got a good score. We had a lot of reading, including the Tatum book and a journal on the Tatum book. We had several in class activities, journals, group work etc. We had to keep a tutoring journal and present a 15 minute lesson which was videotaped. We then critiqued the video. This class wasn't very difficult but very time consuming. The various activities such as jigsaw, think-pair-share, card sort, quick draw and quick write were useful as we can use them in our own classrooms. Dr T. is very approachable, helpful and nice. She will do anything she can to let you grow at your own pace and yet come away with the knowledge you need to complete the course. She is AWESOME! I highly recommend her. Warning, she is a little scattered and sometimes the directions aren't clear. Ask until you understand. She is flexible and patient.
