Liddacoat is nice. The class was a joke. It was extremely easy. I hsould have gotten an A but the one day that we did math it was like calc 3 stuff. And so on the final there were all these questions i didn't know how to answer cause i was currently in Pre-Calc. So i got a B-. Easy class though. Take him.

Professor Liddicoat explained a boring subject very well. He was much clearer than the textbook (which sucked horribly). In office hours he was very helpful and usually explained more than what I asked for. I got a C in the class but I should have gotten an A or a B. The only problem was near the end he asked us a problem on the final which he had only spent the last day of class covering. Other than that this professor is a fair grader. There are two tests and three quizzes and one of the quizzes is dropped. There are about 6 homework assignments that are not collected but I suggest doing because the quizzes and tests contain similar problems. Overall I recommend this professor.

Prof. Liddicoat is an exemplary instructor. He remained very organized through all of his lectures, encouraged each of us to participate and give feedback, and always explained any material if anyone had a question. His grading was very fair and he allowed ample time to review for each exam as well as giving each student a page summary of the topic to be studied for the exams. I can't exactly explain it, but everything he said made sense. I always left the lectures with an understanding of what he explained. I would definitely take another class from Liddicoat.

Prof. Liddicoat is a really good choice if you are looking to take digital design this quarter. The book, which is written by crazy old Sandige, sucks. However, I think Liddicoat knows that so he doesnt assign that much homework from it. His tests are usually based on the material that he lectures on. Please, do yourself a favor and take Liddicoat.

Since this was his first quarter teaching at CP, he was a little hard on us. He has quite an excellent background in electrical engineering and since he was schooled at Standford, he admitted teaching us like he was taught through his masters program. He ensured we were taught everything and went over it pretty fast. Even though he did this, he was extremely helpful in office hours. He would always have solutions to all our problems ready. He noticed student's difficulties and would adjust grading appropriately. He made the class a little harder than necessary but I learned quite a bit. He is easy to talk to which helped.

Dr. Bert Liddicoat was a pretty good prof. overall. He is very friendly, helpful and approachable in office hours. He recognizes student difficulties and is willing to adjust. It was his first quarter at Poly and he made the class harder than the other teachers, and the class grades reflect that, but I think I learned more in his class than students in others.

Proffessor Liddicoat was an excellent teacher. He took the time in class to slowly go over anything that people were having problems with. I really enjoyed the way he taught, as he would take you through every step you needed to know.

This was my first quarter here as a transfer student. I really appreciated the humble and friendly attitude of Professor Liddicoat. The best praise that I can give him is simply this: He worked around student problems on our labs slowly and patiently. We were completing labs before the material was presented in the Lecture part (lecture with another professor) and he was very patient in explaining material such as compressing k-maps well enough to understand before I'd seen them in the lecture at all. Labs were easy to complete, but were the materials were very scattered and hard to follow. This was not entirely his fault because the materials are used for all 259 sections, and are old, out-dated and poorly revised to match the current use of software in the labs. He was not as generous with grading as I would have preferred due to the poor lab materials.. I recieved several labs with marked down grades when my partner and I followed the materials verbatim, (I had missed his introduction for the day and did not know about some changes to the procedure that were not available in any other materials). Overall, better than many other professors I've had, very approachable and easy to discuss your problems with. My poor grade was my own fault dispite the grading issues.

Liddicoat was a good teacher. He was very easy to talk to. I never had any problem with him except his grading style is little screwed up. I think if he works on that he could be the best teacher in EE department.

Great teacher, VERY helpful in office hours, understands students. Tests were fair, this class is kind of a repeat of a few other classes CPE315, CPE/EE229....EE's have alot of trouble and CPEs usually breeze through this class. The labs are pretty hard but if you go to his office hours its pretty simple stuff, just need to ask for the help. Good class for anyone who wants to learn programming chips(minimal programming).

I've had Liddicoat for two classes now (219 and 336) and I did well in each, so my post applies to both. The class with is definitely harder, especially for 219. I compared notes with some students of other teachers and they didn't cover half of what we did. The lectures were pretty helpful, he actually makes it a point to write everything on the board instead of using PowerPoint like so many other profs. I won't kid you, if you've heard anything about Liddicoat, you've probably heard his tests are hard, and it's true. I've had him for two quarters in a row and he's been trying really hard to balance his tests more. If the whole class doesn't do so well he'll curve though. He doesn't assign much in the way of homework, but the tests for both classes came straight from the lecture, so the best way to study is to come to class. He's a really nice guy and an accomodating professor and I wouldn't hesistate to take him again.

Professor Liddicoat is definitely worth taking. There isn't much homework, but he is a HUGE help in office hours, taking the time to re-explain everything until you understand it. His tests are a little awkward because he's only been teaching here for 2 quarters, but he curves to make up for student performance. The only way to have some idea what's coming up in the tests is to attend class.

If you don't know assembly, you've got a bit of catch-up to play the first few weeks of CPE 336. Liddicoat is a really nice guy who doesn't teach with a sense of humor, but he knows his shit. I performed horribly on the tests, and I somehow ended up with a B-. I got lost the first few weeks and figured I'd cut my losses and work harder in other classes. It was not fun, but I'm glad it's over and I would take Liddicoat again.

Cal Poly should have more prof like Liddicoat. He is nice and understand student's need. He is extremely helpful during office hour. He's willing to go out of his way to help his students. I'd recommend anyone to take him.
