Dr. Stefanco is such a cool and knowledgable teacher. If she doesn't know the answer to a question, she will look it up for you. The course requires a lot of reading, but it is a great course for a history major to take. She is energetic and makes all of her lectures fun. Her tests are easy as long as you pay attention in class and read the material. I think this is the best class I will ever take. She taught me so much.

Stefanco was so understanding the whole quarter. She would always throw out questions that the class did bad on. For example, on one of the test she gave credit to 3 questions if you answered incorrectly and I ended up getting an A after that! My advice for the research paper, get it done EARLY! I waited toooo long and procrastinated. She claims you have to read the book but by half way through the semester, I stopped. I would just write down her lectures practically word for word then sort through them before the test to jot down what was most important. I kinda just wrote the notes as a story and it worked great for me! I enjoyed her!

She is an awesome professor. She really cares about her students and makes time to make sure they can get the most out of her class. I would highly recommend her.

I took this class when I transferred in last January, and I really learned a lot. She is very accessilbe, and knows what she is doing. If you're not a good writer, she can help make you a better one. She grades a little tough, but it's a research and writing class so it's to be expected. The class itself is time consuming as you have to research a lot, and do additional reading in the beginning that has nothing to do with writing your paper. Overall a good prefessor, and I would recommend her for those who have to take this class.

She is a great senior project advisor and has really taught me a lot about how to research nad be a successful student.

I had Dr. Stefanco for Senior Project I and II. I had never had her for any other class before but she was a great advisor and offered her help on almost all aspects of the project. She was also fairly easy to get in touch with and recognised any difficulties you might have. I'd take her for a regular class if I could too.

I am a candidate for the new MA History degree, the first time I have been a student in more than 3 decades. It is a distinct pleasure to work with a Department Head and Professor of the quality of Dr. Stefanco. She is very knowledgeable, organized, thoroughly professional, and still has time to care about the success of her students. Naturally, a history course will have a heavy reading load. Expect lots of library research and a requirement for meticulous writing and citation format. Also expect to learn a lot, because you will.

Heavy workload, tons of research, tedious, not much fun, but learned surprising insights.
