Randazzo is extremly energetic which makes his class fun. If you miss three classes you're dropped a letter grade. Don't bother reading just memorize the review sheets because that's all that's on the test. Oh, and get buddy with him... go to his surf shop and hang out. PS: don't miss class during presentations or you get docked 35 points.

Randazzo Jr. is a terrible teacher. The whole lecture was a waste of time. The only time I learned anything in this class was during lab. Lecture was completely useless when it came to lab. The tests were horrible, consisting of mindless memorization. I was sick of hearing those idiotic advertisements for his surf shop. He might be a decent teacher in several years but right now he stinks. I would avoid this teacher if I could but its required.

Dr. Randazzo basically just lectures the whole time and gets off on tangents sometimes but usually they are entertaining. He gives you exactly what is on the midterm the class before and then you go home and study you butt off to memorize everything and then splurt it all back out on his short answer tests. there is a 10 page group paper and presentation on a new material of your choice. overall its wasnt too hard, just put the effort into it.

This guy was very disorganized and hard to understand in his lectures. As said before, the tests are regurgitation of the study guide given the day before the tests. I've heard he's been better before, but the class I took Industrial Materials sucked. You learn all little facts and stuff, not the concepts you need to know.

Dr. Randazzo really cares about his students and is willing to take extra time with them if they are willing to put in the effort. The material isn't that bad and his paper at the end wasn't as bad as it sounded but be sure to stay on top of it. He might not be the best instructor ever but he will remember you the following quarter and is still willing to offer any advice that he can.

Randazzo Sr. is the worst teacher I've ever had. This is the only time in four years I've ever rated a proffessor but I just had to spout off to the world how horrible this guy is. Heres why: Lecture is useless, he doesnt explain anything, he simply slaps up some incomplete and thoroughly unorganized handouts from 1972 and rambles, rarely completing a thought before he veers totally off topic and talks about something stupid and completely irrelevent. The amount of material on the tests is insane and it is all crap. Basically you wil struggle to find the answers to the study guide questions(given hastily a day or maybe two before the test)and then try to cram as much of that bullshit into your cranium so you can puke it out for the test, only to forget it the next day. Randazzo rarely showed up for lab on time, if at all, and when he did we seldom learned anything, he would let us out in twenty minutes. He is not availble to his students at all, and doesnt like it when people ask questions often responding with a snide remark or elitist attitude. Also he likes to totally put people on the spot as if to make up for his own inadequacies. By the way I didnt fail his class so I'm not just bitter, just angry I had to deal with this clown and his antics. Bottom line, avoid Randazzo Sr.

This is a more relevant review of this professor. He's an easy teacher. 5 quizzes, 4 of the highest scores are counted. If you miss a hw assignment however, you cannot take the quiz for credit (which is completely unjust). Doesn't make this class a stress or time consumer. Easy IT course and cool guy overall.

Randazzo has not taught in a couple years so this review might differ from those in 2002. This class was a huge waste of time. If I were to break up what was talked about each day it would be 10% lecture(the stuff all the tests and homework are on), 20% in class work, 10% guest speakers, and 60% of him talking about himself. I know more about his life and all his accomplishments than I actually do about the subject. That being said it is pretty easy to get an A. He doesn't teach you the material before the hw(15% of grade) but there are example problems that are exactly the same to reference online. There are 5 tests and he takes the top 4 grades (very nice of him), each are worth 15% and most exams are online. He pulls all the questions from online tests that you can find easily by googling the question (you are a guaranteed 100%). The final project was another professors so its a little iffy about what he is asking of you, but it wasn't too bad. Again the magic of google is helpful. The rest is all participation so just show up and do the in class assignments. Unfortunately, It could be easy to get a bad grade just from a couple simple mistakes though. Each assignment was out of the number of points for the percent of your grade it was,(a 15% test would be out of 15 points) so if you get one part of one question wrong that's a percent f your grade. Overall, not much of a teacher, boring class, but easy A so it up to you.

Pretty easy class. Its not to much work and the group project is okay. He is not the best teacher though. He doesnt really go over much material and is unclear of his expectations of you. Class is mostly him talking about his life experiences or his friends coming in to talk about theirs which was interesting at first but got really boring fast. He seems like a nice guy but does crap like taking 2% off of my grade because I had to miss class for a job interview.... thought getting a job was the point of school, but I guess not in his mind. I ended up with an A, but I am still a little bitter about it.

I got an A in the class, and learned a little about the subject. It's a really easy class so I'd recommend taking it. The only thing that irritated me a little bit is that he clearly has favorites but anyone can get an A as long as they do their stuff (although his grade system is completely stupid so you could not do your work and still get an A) but he's a nice guy and will delve further into your interests if you ask. He talks a loooot about his personal experiences but they were interesting and I guess useful. Even though he hardly talked about actual book stuff, he did make good connections about what we learned in class to the real world.

Randazzo is a great teacher to have and an excellent mentor/connection beyond the classroom. He has been teaching at Cal Poly since the early 2000's but he took time off to pursue other projects. Since his return to Cal Poly he has been able to use his experience to become a better teacher. In short he sucked but now he rocks. In the classroom he puts a lot of focus on presentations and collective learning. The first day of class he makes it sounds way worse and way harder than it actually is. He makes weird faces at you while you present, I don't think it's on purpose so don't let it psych you out. When I took the class one of the midterms and final were online which was super nice. It is definitely worth your time to try to make a personal connection with him, this will help your grade and possible your career as he has a huge circle of connection in/around Slo. He uses these connections to get a lot of top notch guest speakers. Overall, he's an experienced and motivated professor who really cares about your success in and out of the classroom. He is able to pull from his successes as well as is failures to make an engaging class.

DISCLAIMER: I got an A in this class. This is the dumbest class I've ever taken at Cal Poly. I learned NOTHING about supply chain management but I could tell you how much Randazzo spent on remodeling his kitchen, all of his failed business, and how much he looooves surfing with his bros. The only thing he talks about in depth is himself. I've never cared less about a person or a class. His project is ridiculous and his grading rubric is complete garbage. You need to have a working prototype of the bullshit product you chose during the first week of class. Mess up a quiz and you're screwed because there's no wiggle room. There's only 100 points you can earn... WHY?! At least the final was online. Don't take him. You will thank me.

Randazzo is a nice enough guy and you can tell he cares, but this class is nothing but bullshit busy work. The project has ridiculous expectations and isn't clearly outlined, and all the Pearson homeworks are a complete waste of time. I feel like I'm doing worksheets in high school again.

Avoid Randazzo at all costs. Don't be tempted to take this class by the reviews on here that say it's easy. Yes, overall, it is pretty easy. That's not the problem. I'm still in the middle of taking this class (I'm writing this review before completing the class in hopes that students that are about to sign up for classes in a couple days will see it), but I'll probably receive anywhere from an A- to a B in this class. The problem is Randazzo is easily the worst professor I've had at Poly. He couldn't teach if it saved his life. He absolutely loves talking about himself instead of teaching the class. About half of the time spent in class is just a platform for him to talk about himself, which he then (poorly) tries to relate back to supply chain management. He'll also have the students create presentations and teach subjects because "he doesn't want to be the only one up in front talking." When he actually "teaches" he just reads off of the PowerPoint slides. He never takes attendance, but he'll take a half point of participation away from you if he asks you a question and you get it wrong. This means that you could potentially lose more points for going to class than for not going at all. 3 of the 100 available points in the class are based off of a bullshit project management simulation "competition" that he decides to do in class. The way it's set up means that only a few groups can get 3/3 on the exercise. The "winners" are decided on a rubric that he created, not made by the creators of the simulation, and to make things worse, random events that delay the project happen during the simulation that are completely out of control of your group, meaning that you can lose up to 2% of your grade for the whole class if you happen to be unlucky and get more of these delays than other groups. Then there's the group project. At some point around the third week of class, he'll tell you that your group has a rough draft due in two weeks. Fine, whatever. But he doesn't tell you anything about what his expectations are for the rough draft. He gives you a rubric for the final version that he'll tell you to use, but it is not helpful in the slightest. He literally expects you to include sections in the rough draft that he hasn't covered in class yet, and if you don't, you lose points. He'll also dock points for not having the draft arranged in a certain order, yet he never indicates what order he wants it in. He gives absolutely no constructive feedback. When I asked what he wanted my group to change in a certain section, he completely ignored my question and just said that he was "so frustrated reading it." He marked down my group's paper because we didn't include a table of contents or pictures of ourselves (in a rough draft), instead of grading it on the actual content. He'll cross out whole sections of your draft and will not give any explanation as to why, or how you can fix it. I've seen mud that's clearer than what Randazzo expects from his students. Do yourself a favor and don't do what I did and take this class because you heard it was easy. You will be so frustrated in this class that you'll wish you had taken a more difficult option with actual clear and fair grading. I know I do. There are a lot more small things that he does that just shows he has no clue how to teach a class, but it would take hours to go over all of them. The bottom line is this: DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

Randazzo is a pretty cool professor. He WILL spend about 40 minutes each class talking about himself, somehow. Everything under the sun seems to relate back to Randazzo. But, his class is pretty informative, thanks to the textbook and his grand project. His homework assignments are easy and there were two in-class and two online quizzes. Online quizzes are guaranteed A's but the in class ones can be a doozy if you don't study. So, study. The project really was the coolest part about the class. MAKE SURE TO GET GOOD TEAMMATES!! Don't pick your lazy friends. Randazzo expects an insane amount of professionalism and thought to be put into the quarter long project. You will walk away with a great understanding of how to build a company and product... Very deep and thorough 'learn by doing' approach to supply chain design. His critiques on the projects seem a bit based on popularity in the class. Overall, I would recommend this class as an IT requirement for future business majors. Just go into the class knowing you may not get along with Randazzo's teach style very well.

I have never wrote a polyrating review before but Randazzo is honestly one of the most frustrating professors I have ever had to deal with. Not only do you actually learn nothing in the actual lecture, but the entire time he talks about himself and poorly tries to relate it back to the lecture material. He literally docks off points if you don't go to class even if you are actually sick or if you "doze off" during class. He has ABSURD expectations of the quarter long project which includes literally 3-D printing a prototype of your invention, even though no business admin student actually has access to any of those capabilities. The quiz questions are completely sentence specific and he will ask you a question on one line of material inside a small chart that is completely irrelevent to the chapter. DO NOT take this class if you don't want to be frustrated the entire quarter.

Anthony was an alright instructor. Although, he does not declare the key dates by the beginning of the quarter in the syllabus. Also, he does not emphasize on important information by describing them long enough with some clear directive details that help to absorb the dry material. Not to forget, he gives no partial credit in his quizzes. Other than that, I think that Anthony is such an asset to Cal Poly. He is an inspiring instructor who taught a lot about his experience. I feel blessed that I had a chance to learn from his experience in the supply chain management. The class contains 3 quizzes, 10% each+20% final+10% for chapter presentation+10%for final presentation+15% for the report+5% for the prototype+10% for participation and some other stuff. Overall, very helpful and very understanding instructor.

Easy class, but Randazzo is not the best professor. He's a little rude, taught nothing, and is just frustrating overall but the reviews above are very exaggerated about him. He's an ok professor, but not THAT bad. The whole class is out of 100 points so it's very easy to lose points. There's a quarter long project that sucks and I thought it was a very unnecessary project because it taught you nothing about supply chain management. It was more of a marketing/entrepreneurship project. Nonetheless Randazzo gave a very vague rubric that just said what topics to talk about and how many pages it should be and expected us to talk about these topics that we weren't going to go over in class till later in the quarter when the rough draft was due like the 4th week into the quarter. He had very unrealistic expectations about it. He advised that we just read the topics ahead of time? No ones going to read 8 chapters worth of material within a couple of weeks to do a project he should have taught us about. Idk about you but I'm not paying 9k a year to read/teach material on my own. He also expects you to make a working prototype of whatever object you decide to come up with. There's 4 quizzes, 2 were online and easy because the answers were on quizlet but the other 2 were in class and he just took answers off the Pearson homework and some were short answers off of cases in the book or videos we watched in class. Homework was easy because answers were on quizlet. There's also a group assignment thats worth 10 points where we had to teach/present the class a chapter. It's stupid and again not our job. In the middle of our presentation he rudely interrupted us and said the presentation wasn't what he wanted but he gave no rubric to go off of? He's frustrating like that. He also criticized work in front of the whole class which I thought was very unprofessional. He never taught the material. He would just talk about his life failures which were interesting but a waste of time. I got a B+ 88 points out of 100. Like I said easy class but very easy to lose points since every assignment is 1-5 points and he gives no rubric on anything so you never know what he expects from you. I'd advise finding someone who took the class so you can go off their project to have an idea of how it should be done.

Unfortunately for the students, Professor Randazzo is a beneficiary of that good ol' Central Coast nepotism... the ONLY reason Anthony is a professor is bc his father is a retired and respected Poly professor. Over-delegation and lack of clarity are hurdles to success in this course. At first, this was one of my least favorite lectures ever at CPSU. I understand 'Learn by Doing' but I am not learning to be a professor, so I should not have had to accept his teaching responsibilities as part of the class. Also, we had the CEO of Finjan (Phil H.) as a guest speaker explicitly state a gender-based hiring preference, going into detail about how he likes to hire female candidates while Anthony just listened. What he lacks as a professor/professional he somewhat makes up for with life experience. Do not take the terrible reviews too seriously. The class actually does have some value as far as getting comfortable presenting. Course material is not worthless; better than org behavior imo. Anthony does have some great stories that apply, namely the kitchen remodel rabbit hole. As long as you stay focused and attend lecture, this is a tolerable course with something to offer.

Professor Randazzo has to be one of the most frustrating professors I've taken at Cal Poly. He obviously has very specific ideas of what he wants out of all of the coursework that students present, however, he apparently believes everyone to be psychic because he gives no clarification as to what he wants. All of my gripes have been said several times in other reviews but to summarize, his favorite subject is himself, his lectures are useless, he isn't clear on instruction and his class is almost entirely devoid of any useful information. Also to clarify I'm in this class at the moment and currently have an A, it's not hard but it is absolutely not worth your time and money to take this man's class.

Randazzo was the worst professor I have ever had. His tests are really hard and the project is horrible. He gives you no outline of what he expects but will still grade down if you're missing what he wants, it is completely subjective. He has a favorite group that is the only group that gets 100% on stuff. He is sexist so if you have girls in your group you're screwed. He should not be a professor.

Probably the worst professor I have had at Cal Poly. Did not teach course content well, if at all. I honestly could not tell you 3 things he taught me in the class, aside from the fact that he loves breakfast burritos, surfing, and talking about himself. Does not clearly express what he wants from the project or teach us how to get the information that is needed. Automatically assumes we are all ITP students and know SolidWorks and we are mostly business with no knowledge of it. Also, the amount of money students have to spend on this class is more than I have spent on any other class, from the expensive online software, book, binding reports, and buying materials for the prototype. He grills students on the 20 minute presentation and asks super specific questions and is extremely critical about the prototype. I probably will end up with a B or A in the class, but I would still extremely recommend taking the lean six sigma course. You will probably spend the close to the same amount on this class as you would with an easier class that is more applicable to getting a job.

DON'T TAKE IF YOU DON'T HAVE TOO!!!!! The coarse is interesting and Randazzos project is very valuable so that is good. Randazzo however is the least prepared and worst professors I have had so far. He has literately no standards or rubric for the final project and presentation so students have absolutely no idea what to make and must periodically check with him to see if they are on track. Randazzo barley reads the material turned in which is frustrating. Randazzo also has several unfair grading criteria like a simulation that incorporates random setbacks that is worth 3% of our grade. Only if you win the scenario you get 3% while the losers slowly get percentages docked off their final grade. This is very unfair as the setbacks are not evenly distributed between the groups competing. Randazzo also takes a percent off your final grade if he asks you a question on the reading and you get it wrong which would seem fair if he didn't ask random percentages or numbers mentioned in the books case studies. Most groups do not get these questions correct and periodically loose percentages off their final grade. Randazzo's tests are also skewed towards student failure. Each question is worth a percent of your grade and there is no partial credit however each question can have up to 5 subquestions so really you need to get 5 questions right to get one right on the test. Many times I have gotten 4/5 and then lost the whole point for one mis-worded answer. Randazzo also never actually lectures he simply talks about his life failures and what they taught him which is useful at times but also very unhelpful when his failures get personal and non business based. All in all this class is essentially a history of Randazzo with the occasional impossible test and random attacks on your grade so maybe if you're lucky you do well but it is totally luck of the draw. That being said I am one of the lucky ones randomly getting called for easy questions and not having set backs for the simulation which has given me an A in the class: others are not as lucky. This class has also cost me close to $300 for the book, producing a prototype, and printing our final project 5 times in bound card stock paper (why do we need to print it 5 times to turn one copy in? Because Randazzo required it). This class is the worst class I have taken at Cal Poly and has made me question the integrity of the school as well as my major. For someone on a tight budget I cannot comprehend how I was forced to pay so much extra for such an awful class. Randazzo is not intentionally malicious he's a nice guy; but he is utterly incompetent and not what I am paying for in a college education.

First off this class is easy and if you put in a medium amount of effort you will get an A. The class is not hard, but it is extremely annoying to hear him lecture for 2 hours twice a week about himself as he "humbly" brags about all of his business endeavors (and failures), and all the money he has made and then lost. I would recommend this class if you want minimal work load and online midterms. 3/4 of the quizzes are on pearson so you can use Quizlet to answer 80% of each one. Going to class is sometimes helpful but not necessary if you need to miss occasionally. Also be prepared to spend close to $200 out of pocket on this class because you have to buy a pearson subscription, materials for your product prototype, and 2 binded books for your rough and final draft of your project which will run your team about $20 each (split between 4-5 people). Overall recommend as an easy class, and honestly it's kinda fun too.
