Well if you are a freshman and you are an aero major then you don't have much of a choice but to take this class. I just want to say that Jordi does such a great job and he really does a good job. Make sure you do the reports when you are supposed to and you will get an A. Also be sure to have fun with your designs!

Dr. P is a fun teacher. AERO 121 was pretty easy, since it's all basic flight stuff, but he made it interesting and involved the class and showed views that we normally wouldn't have thought of. Don't know about tests, we didn't have any.

Puig-Suari's a good teacher, willing to help you anytime you need it, even if it's not aero-related. The class was really easy and really fun. Only one of the lectures was necessary (where the only homework assignment was given), but I went to all of them because Dr. P's a fun guy to listen to and talk to.

This guy kicks a$$!! He's funny, there are no tests, and only one homework assignment. It's just an easy class.

Dr. P, as he liked to be called because we couldn't pronounce his name, was a great guy. His class was what an intorductory class should be. He gave you the overall specifications of the class while keeping you interested. His three homework assignments were just short of simple and the Aero projects were not only fun, but they got me excited about Aero Engineering. It's a great class to take even if you're not an Aero student. Dr. P is a great professor and I'd take the class again if I could use the credits somehow...hmmm... P.S. You don't need the book either, unless you have a lot of extra money lying around your house...

Dr.P obviously knows what he's talking about and makes it really clear to the students. Aero 121 is an easy class to get an A in as long as the 2 homeworks and 2 reports are done decently. Dr.P is friendly and is willing to stay after class to talk over the material and answer any questions that you have. I definitely recommend him as an Aero 121 professor to take.

Dr. P really was helpful in explaining Aero concepts and helping me with any of their applications. The class is alot of fun, and should be a cakewalk for any Aero major, as long as they like Aero. The lab work is fun a helps alot to get you accustomed to those concepts Dr. P teaches.

Dr. P is an awesome professor. He taught my Aero 121 class and it was the greatest class I had that quarter. He really finds good ways to present the material and it covers a lot of stuff so getting it all in and having the students understand it all can be a tough job, but he does excellent. I can't think of one bad thing about Dr. P. He is an amazing professor and I hope to have him in future classes.

He is a cool professor. The material taught is really basic, but he still manages to make it interesting. He also does not mind deviating from the curriculum for whole class periods if you ask good questions. I would encourage even non-aeros to take this class because it is so fun and almost a guaranteed "A".

Class was so easy it is hard to judge how good he was. He did know his stuff though. Lecture and lab for AERO 121 are not related at all, so try hard in lab, but the lecture is practically voluntary. Good teacher and class overall.

This was a really easy class, but it was still obvious that Dr. P really knows his stuff. Hes a nice guy and he made this intro class fun and interesting. "Does that make sense?" "Cool."

Dr. P is awesome. He is very smart, and a very good lecturer. He is also extremely funny, and not in the cheesy way. Theres not much he can do in the 121 class, being as we only met 1 hour a week, but he manages to get as much out of the time as he can. He assigned no homework or test, so there was no reason to go to class. But almost everyone does go, because that is how good of a teacher he is

I thoroughly enjoyed this class. I took because I was thinking of switching into Aerospace Engineering and wanted to see if I liked the subject material. Dr. P, as he likes to be called, is funny and presents the material quite well. He engages the class and will make sure that you know what is going on, "Does dat make sense? COOL!" We receive a good overview of aerospace. There is NO work in this actual class because there are no exams. The work is in the lab, where you get to have much fun building a glider and a rocket. You must then write a report about each experience and those are the only graded materials. If you are an aerospace major, don't worry about this class, it is a breeze and no problem. If you want a technical elective, this would be a great choice as you will learn a lot about aerospace and will have fun in the laboratory, that is when you aren't stressing about finishing your plane or rocket on time.

Dr. P was very informative in his lectures. The was no tests or quizzes so you did not have to go to the lectures, but the whole point should be that if you are an aerospace engineering major you should be at least somewhat interested in what he talked about. The lab part of the class is were we built the gliders and the rockets. My main suggestion would be to join a group in your lab that is motivated. My group in lab had basically two sometimes three people who did the work and the rest of the group slacked off which was a big pain and takes some of the fun out of the class.

Great teacher for this class. He spends a lot of the lecture asking questions, making the students think of things on their own. He has a lot of interesting facts on both sides of aerospace, and is never boring.

Easiest class, u dont have to go to the lectures because all that matters are the labs, the lectures just shows many types of airplane and rockets that have been built throughout the century. Any questions about the aero major can be answered by him. Eventhough i did go to all the lectures, some of my friends did not go because u just ont need to go.

Dr. P is the pimp! His lectures were fun and very relaxed. He baisically just told us what airplanes were and a bit about sattilites, most of the stuff people already know. He is really funny and likes a good time. Definintly take him.

You guys are retards. There is no need to evaluate Puig Suari for this course. Save it for the real ones. Everyone already knows this is the easiest class ever; I knew before I entered Poly. I also knew about Kolkailah. Believe me, your precious little 4.0's your so strongly holding will drop out of the sky like the worst of your 121 gliders. Just wait a while before you start evaluating professors.

He is an awesome teacher. He seems like he knows his stuff but this class was so fundemental is was hard to get a sense of his teaching ability. He is very funny during his lectures. Even though the lectures aren't very important, I still went to them to hear what he had to say and his jokes... No complaints

Dr. P is a great teacher for Aero 121 lecture. Considering he is the only one who teaches it, consider yourself lucky. The class is a very generalized class about the aerospace industry, and you will find it interesting if you are really into your major. Although he is a great at talking to groups, I have a bad impression of him when it comes to contacting him individually. He had never responded to any of the emails that I sent him, and never answered his phone during his office hours. So if all you need him for is the lectures, then you are set!

I can't say that I know much about Dr. P's ability to teach well because the 121 lecture was pretty pointless. We covered interesting stuff, and went off on tangents a lot. But I thought he presented the material well. He's a really nice guy, very funny, and easy to talk to.

Dr. P managed to keep a possibly boring class interesting, even when teaching a large lecture. He was very knowledgable and at times humorous. I would recommend his class to anyone

For 121, he basically talks about interesting stuff. There are no finals or anything, so you can go to class if you want, but it is not necessary. I went every time though because it was neat material. Seems like a really cool guy.

He never showed up to lectures and when he did the info was on non-aero topics like how to use career services and stuff like. Lab was pretty easy but the TA's are bitches.

Aero 121 was easy. the lecture doesn't really help much. it basically tells you what you're getting in to and the different options for aero engineers. there was only like 2 assignments from that class but your grade depends mostly on the lab.

This is a very fun class. The lectures are great and you get to build a rocket and glider. There is only 4 thing you get graded on, 2 reports and 2 homework. It is an easy A depending on which TA you get for the lab (since they grade the work). I heard there is only one teacher that will make it challenging.

The lecture was more the concept of engineering, not specific to Aero, but presented to broaden horizons. The idea was to make sure you\'re where you want to be, not so much teach aerodynamic principles. He has a really dry sense of humor, very funny.

Dr. P really made me think about choosing AERO. In short, I like engineering and I like airplanes so I chose AERO. He pointed out that the aerospace industry isn't exclusively aerospace engineering. Since I like electrical and mechanical too, it really made me think. The class itself is crazy easy. Short assignments and two projects in lab, which were a huge fiasco. Our rocket was built for a D size motor, which got downgraded to a C size at the last minute, screwing us over. Then the glider competition happened on a stupidly windy day and the gliders were launched by an elastic tube anchored in the GROUND. This meant that the properly balanced gliders were launched into the ground and the only ones that flew were so tail-heavy that they were uncontrollable. Really disappointing end to a fun class, but hey, I still ended up with an A.

To all those freshmen reading this page: don't switch into aero based on this class. That is a horrible idea. This class is pretty entertaining and basically bullshit (but hey, it's fun). Just enjoy the ride and wait for Dr. K.

Dr. P is the man. He isn't like other teachers where his way is the only way. I feel like he promote reasoning, and if you are at all intelligent, you will do well in his classes. He keeps classes entertaining, at least as entertaining as Spaceflight Dynamics can get. He is very personable and goes out of his way to help kids who need it.

AERO 452 comes around once a year, taught by the venerable P himself. If you actually make it to this point, you\'re obviously going to finish this program, but seriously think twice about taking this class if you\'re faced with the option. IT IS NOT EASY. A lot of us came into this class expecting a continuation of 451 (which we all really enjoyed), maybe more orbit determination techniques, 3rd body effects, interplanetary missions, etc. Well, that is partly true, and we did some interplanetary stuff for the first few weeks, but the real meat of this class is actually spaceCRAFT dynamics. Yeah. Not spaceflight, spaceCRAFT. I want that to be clear. Initially, I and my peers thought that was all P\'s doing, but when I went back and re-read the course description, I saw that it does indeed include spacecraft dynamics. It seems that this is P\'s bread and butter though, so you\'re really in no better hands, however, if you\'re looking for a professor that\'s going to tell you everything you need to know, write it all down for you and spoon feed it to you until you understand it, you\'re in the wrong class and you\'re looking at the wrong professor. At the end of the quarter, I looked back on my experience with P in 452 and decided that instead of a lecturer, he was more of a facilitator. Rather than just dumping a bunch of crap in our laps, he really encouraged us to explore and find out shit for ourselves - especially with the two projects he assigned which comprised a majority of the total grade. The material was all around difficult. In my opinion, this could qualify as a graduate level class. Average on the midterm was in the high 50s. Average on the final was also in the high 50s. Class average at the end of the quarter was a 62% D-. I hope this is sinking in now for you guys reading this. This is no cakewalk. If you want to take this class, be prepared to work, think, derive, deduce and write MATLAB like no other. P openly said to us all that he wanted us to learn MATLAB and that he would do his best to fail anyone who puts forth no effort to learn it. Well, I don\'t know how many people failed 452, but he certainly pounded us with MATLAB the last 4 weeks of class and even included a MATLAB question on the final just to ensure that we learned it. I will have to admit that I benefited from this pressure and really worked hard to understand MATLAB which has always been a struggle for me. This course will likely do the same for some of you, but you really have to want it and you have to devote some time to it. P\'s office hours are...frustrating. He\'s often late, sidetracked, bombarded by grad students, phone calls, etc. He\'s a busy man, so sometimes it\'s hard to get to him and ask him questions. He is pretty good at answering questions and does offer good insight. Rather than digging through your code line-by-line with you, he\'ll take the more general approach with you and say \"that looks wrong\" or \"those equations aren\'t right\". Not unhelpful, but I think this plays into his facilitator role. He wants you to figure shit out for yourself. He\'s trying to get students off the bottle so to speak. Some general info about the course: split up into HW/Midterm 1/Project 1/Project 2/Final. The final was actually a second test, non-cumulative. 15% from the HW, 20% of your grade comes from the projects, 30% from the first midterm and 35% from the Test2/Final. The focus in the last 4 to 5 weeks of class shifts from homework to the projects meaning there is no homework while projects are assigned. Overall, P is a good professor. His lecture leaves something to be desired, whether it be more information or examples of what the hell we\'re actually doing, but he will always clarify any issues that may arise or questions students may have. In fact, he\'s willing to spend whole class periods answering questions on homework and projects, otherwise he\'ll move on, so I recommend utilizing that time to ask him questions because quite simply put, the homework and projects are pretty daunting. Long story short, this class is tough. You have to put in a lot of effort, but if you do I guarantee you\'ll be rewarded. If you want a challenge, or are interested in spacecraft dynamics and control then look into taking this class. If you\'re looking to satisfy a technical elective...find something else to do.
