I took this Gymnastics class for fun it was great. Proctor seems to have ADD and it's hard to get his attention for long periods of time. ( But that's partially due to fact that there are a lot of students in the class) Proctor makes the class fun and laid- back. I definitely recommend him.

Dr. Proctor had mood swings. Some days he was nice and helped me if i needed to know how to do a skill, but others he would not tell me at all what i was doing wrong. He works well in small groups of people. Also, towards the end of the year, he becomes more friendly. He favors least the people who can do the skills. The way his class works is that students who have taken his class previously are the evaluators, but the problem is that there are not always enough evaluators to mark off for points. So, you end up having him as the sole evaluator, and that is hard when there are many students wanting him at one time. I will take this class again to be an evaluator, to stay flexible, and to keep the skills that I have learned.

He was a good teacher. I just think the class was based a little too much on ability and that isn't right. A lot of people aren't strong enough or flexible enough to get an A and an A should be attainable to everyone. Nothing against him just how hte class is taught.( And sometimes he is a little unclear on what you are doing wrong, but that is just cuz he wants you to look in the manual thing and figure it out yourself)

As a professor, Proctor is terrible. I took his KINE 317 course and he doesn't answer any questions and seems to thrive on his students frustrations. He absolutely refuses to answer any questions you might have. He loves the fact that he frustrates and annoys people and makes them struggle. He sits there and does everything on the computer and you are just to supposed to pick it up the first time. The class isn't hard, if you've ever used a computer you'll do fine, most of the skills are very basic. Some of the stuff though you would never use because no one does it that way. But, he is the only one who teaches this, so you really don't have choice at all. Good luck, just bear with him.

Dr. Proctor was very knowledgable about the mac computers but he didn't seem to like to answer some questions. However, the TA's were very helpful w/helping everyone keep up in the class. The class is not difficult. If you attend class you will know how to do everything on the test. He gives you practice assignments to prepare for the tests AND he gives LOTS of extra credit. So if you have a bad test or two (like I did) you can still get a good grade. I recommend him because you learn a little bit more about computers and he is a more than fair grader.

I was prepared for this to be a horrible class, but really, it was a piece of cake. Yes, he does like to make you think things out for yourself, but that's just so that you learn to use the computer yourself. If you don't have a working knowledge of Mac's, then the class might be a bit of a problem in the beginning, but other than that, not much thinking is required. The exams are open book, open note, so if you don't well then that's your own fault. The grades percentages are even lower than your usual class (an A goes down to the mid 80's), so everyone SHOULD get an A. Nice to take when you have other hard classes so you can give your mind a break twice a week. **Do the extra credit so you don't have to study for the exams at all!

Dr. Proctor is a very arrogant man and is very hard to approach with questions. Usually he won't answer because he wants you to struggle with the computers and learn it on your own. Sometimes this is a good tactic, but he carried it a bit far. His lectures are very fast paced, so it is very difficult to keep up. You have to stay on task and if you fall behind, forget what you are doing and just jump to whatever he is doing. The TA's are usually very helpful, so ask them any questions that you have. All tests are open book, open notes, so right down all the little hints that he tells you and know where to find the stuff in the book. The tests take the full two hours and are jam packed with stuff. If you don't know what you are doing, you won't finish. I came in to the extra office hours before tests to practice stuff and that was enough to prepare. Do all of the extra credit and you will be fine...even if you do bad on the first test.

Dr. Proctor is by far the most arrogant professor I've encountered at CP. He seriously took pride in his stories about making people cry during class due to frustration. Eventhough he's knowledgeable about the subject he's teaching, he's a horrible teacher b/c he can't articulate it for shit, or just chooses not share the information. The material you learn in class through trial and error, your peers, but not from Proctor, is definetly useful. You can always count on Proctor to bring your spirits down. Buy the manual for the class b/c it's your only teacher, and expect to put in a little extra time for this class.

He is a little bit boring and goofy but very helpful. He knows his stuff and is willing to share his knowledge. Close your eye and listen... he sounds like Barney Rubble.

Dr. Proctor is a peice of SHIT. JUST LIKE A PROCTOLOGIST would find in someones ass. He never helps you. And if he does then he dosnt give you enough information to fix your problems so you end up doing poorly on the assignment even if you have gone to his office hours a million times. He is the only professor who teaches the courses so HAVE FUN.

Dr. Proctor is so freaking frustrating. However, he is the only one who teaches these pointless (but required) classes so there is no way to avoid him. Just beware of his annoying way of being a jerk and treating students like they are worthless. It is practically impossible to study for his tests and quizzes because the material seems so trivial and simple, yet he some how succeeds at making them difficult. All that I can say is I am so happy that I am done with these classes. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

I have taken Proctor for 3 classes now and I feel he is an awesome teacher. He is very knowledgeable and presents the material well. His tests are extremely straight forward. Proctor is hilarious, some people take his jokes way to literally.

I love proctor and is so sad that he is retiring!! I hate stupid students that didn\'t try to get a good grade on his class and then just come on here and bitch. He has fun with his classes, and if you have fun with them too he\'ll like you. will def. use what he\'s taught me in all three classes

I believe that he is the most underrated teacher in the department. He actually teaches you things that you will use..and it's not necessarily the course content. Plus, I don't see how these forms, written evaluations, etc. are an adequate means of evaluating people. Get a better system...because it is unfair to the people who are being rated. You would think that a "higher education" institution would be able to figure that out...but then again it's a department of spoon feeding. It's quite rediculous.

This is the fifth class I've had with Dr. Proctor. Here's some advice that I promise will make your life a lot easier: 1) Speak up in class. He really likes people that answer his questions. 2) Go to class. It'll cut your study time down to nothing. 3) Go to his office hours. He likes when people show an effort in their papers. And you'll get a better grade on your paper. 4) If Dr. Proctor knows who you are and likes you, he'll bend his normally unbendable rules for you. 5) He's not a bad guy. I've come to really enjoy his classes and sense of humor.

OK you either love proctor or hate him. I've taken him for 317 and 401 and really like him. ok yes, he can be annoying in 317 but you do actually learn how to use macs, and you just have to ask him to help you and not be timid about asking him questions or telling him to slow down. 401 is the easiest class if you go to all the lectures. Quiz's are straight forward and fair, but you have to memorize the section. Just go to class and it will be easier because you'll remember his examples and participate in class and you'll be fine. His formatting for papers is annoying but whatever overall i think he's a good guy that tries to teach you stuff you'll use in the real world.
