Best professor I've had at Cal Poly so far! I was so lucky to get blocked into his 134 for my first quarter here. If you ever get the chance, take Green! Only reason I got a B+ was because I forgot to submit an assignment online in time before the deadline. But overall a mid B is easily attained.

Professor Green was the greatest English teacher I have ever had. He is super approachable and is willing to help you out to get an A. His class isn't very hard but he will throw in an occasional pop quiz if he notices people aren't reading, so read before class an you will do fine. Overall I highly recommend him

This class was great. It was simple, the information was current, the assignments were short, and the grading was clear. Professor Green did a great job with this course. I enjoyed it. He doesn't assign too much homework, and everything is do-able. I found the examples used in lecture to be current and engaging, as well as entertaining. His assignments were clear, and always related to the topic on hand. Most of all, the class was useful. You learned something. My best advice is actually do the readings. The assigned readings are not long, and he doesn't require that much of you. Just do the work. Also, participate in class--it makes the material that much more engaging. Plus, if you participate in class, the lecture moves along a lot quicker.

Love Mr. Green! I was so lucky to get blocked into his english class my first quarter here at cal poly. I ended up getting a B+ (89.2) in the class because I hardly did any of the readings he assigned. overall my favorite professor so far.

I hate writing and Mr. Green was the best English teacher ever. I had this class at 7 am and he made it fun and always had us read interesting things. You write 4 essays but he gives you a lot of class time to write them, you have reading and vocab quizzes, and a lot of in class activities that are easy points. Take his class, you will not regret it.

To be completely frank, I dislike English quite a lot. Professor green was probably the only reason I could bear going to a 7am class four days a week and in all honesty he's extremely passionate about what he does which makes learning and working with him so much more easier and enjoyable.

I highly recommend Green. His classtime does include a lot of thoughtful class discussion, which I enjoyed because it made going to class more interesting. He gives you short readings almost everyday, but they are not long and he tries to make the readings interesting and relevant to current times. Take Green if you can!

Green is a very nice guy and makes class enjoyable even though I had him at 8 AM. He has hw and some quizzes but as long as you read the assigned readings they are very easy. Fair grader for essays and gives lots of good feedback. I would recommend him for any english class.

This professor gives you grades depending on how much work you put in. If you think you can just write your papers yourself and make an A, you won't, even if you are a good writer. This class is NOT easy. If you are not willing to spend the extra time to go into his office hours you will not get the grade you want. When you do go in, he is very helpful and points out the things that need to be changed to take your papers to the next level. He is a funny and entertaining guy. He also cancels Friday class from time to time. Not a bad class overall.

This is a pretty chill English class. The homework assignments and quizzes/tests are not hard at all (just basic grammar rules and reading quizzes). While Green won't hand out As for papers, he's not a picky grader (I.E. he's not going to mark you down a letter grade for using passive language). He's most concerned about the structure of the paper, not wether or not the subject is unique. My highest graded papers were more generic, but they were much more clearly structured.

Sean Green is an incredible professor! He made this my favorite class this quarter, and he really takes the time to get to know his students personally. There are four papers assigned throughout the quarter and after each paper he would send a video where he gave verbal feedback while going through your paper, and it was super helpful. There's also quite a few quizzes but they're all short and super easy if you've skimmed the reading (which isn't a lot, the homework assigned is just to read short stories). Love this class, would totally take more classes from him if I could!

Sean Green is an excellent teacher. Only way I was able to drag myself down to a 7:00 am class 4 days a week (including friday) was because of this guys. He is energetic yet not overwhelmingly so. Knows his stuff, is very experienced, and is easy to listen to. He is extremely fair and understanding and often asks the class for their input. 75% of your grade is essays so you pretty much just need to do well on those and it is not difficult to. The essay topics are fun and he encourages you to write in a pretty unrestricted style. Great teacher and a great guy, could not recommend him more.

Professor Green is the best teacher that I've had. I loved going to his class at 8am and the material that he presented us with was so funny. We actually watched videos about trending stuff (Ken Bone) and he put an outline of the entire class day online which was so helpful. He gives you a lot of time for essays, but grades pretty difficult. I'm not the best writer, but I spent an enormous amount of time in the writing center, getting peer edited, and reviewing each essay over and over. However, I got a low B on every essay.

Green is a pretty cool individual. I recommend taking him but he isn't the easiest grader. I worked hard on my essays and never got above a B which was kinda annoying. He is a great guy and easy to get along with. He is very approachable and wants his students to do well. Pretty standard english class: read short essays/articles at home and then discuss the next day. There are a few quizes on the readings but not bad. The final is an essay. He does a good job presenting the information and stating his expectations. I recommend.

Professor Green was hands down the best English teacher I've had. He kept his lectures and assignments interesting and would even push back due dates if he recognized his class was struggling in a certain area, then dedicate a day to address any questions around that area. He also provides a lot of feedback on essays. An A/B+ is very doable as long as you follow his corrections and the prompt.

GO BACK TO P.A.S.S. AND TAKE HIM NOW. As the other reviewers say, he is the most qualified, engaging, and chilled-out professor I've taken so far. His lecture is presented through a simple online blog format that you can check from home even if you miss class. This was his first quarter teaching 145, and the class was legitimately helpful as my last English class ever before going into the workforce. Very helpful during office hours and always gives you the most detailed feedback on your submission. I never enjoyed English in high school but this class was my favorite, it made me a significantly better writer. Fairly easy overall with short, timely articles to read for HW, straightforward reading quizzes. Wholeheartedly recommend him for any ENGL class!

Professor Green is one of the best professors at Cal Poly if you're considering him just take him. I took him for English 134 and when I saw the opportunity to take him again for 145 I did not hesitate. I haven't finished the quarter yet but felt inclined to write this review just because how great of a professor he is. I am not a fan of English but he makes all topics talked about relatable and keeps class exciting. As I said, he is one of the best professors at Cal Poly I have had and have no complaints about his class.

I took SEAN GREEN my freshman year and he was so chill and loved to converse about the class's topics of interest. He gave me the A because I was right on the cusp(which most teachers will not do!). Essays and reading quizzes are not too difficult and I really enjoyed the class. He is SO laid back. Just gotta say that Mr. Green is the fuckin homie!!! HIGHLY recommend!

He is a newer teacher, but he is probably one of the chillest teacher I've ever had. The work load starts off a little heavy but lightens up as the quarter goes on. If you take the class seriously it can be very helpful for life and the work force, but even then its not hard. Definitely recommend him as a teacher especially if you are looking for a guy with connections cause he has a lot of friends in many places constantly asking him for interns.

Sean Green is an effective English teacher and is likely one of the best options for English 149 at Cal Poly. Work load is moderate. There is very little work that requires critical thought but a lot of busy work. It is obvious that he lacks a technical background but he clearly does his best to provide a productive educational experience. His lack of understanding of the engineering industry made him seem closed minded about the efficacy of some of his course requirements.

Mr. Green is an absolutely great guy to have ENGL 149. He's funny, sharp, and makes you feel like it is not even a class at some points. I had his class during 6-8pm which I thought would be the most boring class, but he does enough to keep you focused and have fun from time to time. This class in general takes a lot of effort if you want to get an A, but it is incredibly easy to get a solid B by just doing the homework and doing enough on the projects. 10/10 I would recommend Mr. Green for ENGL 149.

Take Sean Green. I'd recommend him 10/10. He conveys material in such a straightforward, understandable manner, and his classes go by extremely quickly because he's able to hold your attention. He doesn't do the huge iFixit project; there are three smaller projects: the FastFixIt, Recommendation Report, and personal website. Every other week where we didn't have a project due, we did packets, and the packets took roughly 2.5 hours to do. No final, just the last project. Other than that, there's a small amount of reading. Probably the best Technical Writing teacher!

While in years past I have been plagued with horrendous English teachers, Sean Green is by far one of the best instructors I have ever had the pleasure of taking. I was extremely enthusiastic while taking his class, because the skills he teaches us translate into real-world applications. In fact, I've already used some of them in dealing with official Cal Poly and employment applications. In addition, he made the class enjoyable while not being overly rigorous. There are weekly packets that you should complete (as I missed one and missed out on an A-), 2 projects and a final project/presentation. The projects in this class are résumé worthy, in addition to helping create your portfolios of a personal website and LinkedIn. I highly recommend Sean Green to anyone taking ENGL 149, he's a straight up G. [Final Grade: B+]

Second time I've taken Green and he's still awesome. Makes a really dry subject like technical writing really enjoyable. Grades easy on hw assignments (if you just do them you'll get an A) and is fairly generous on the projects as well. If you try at all in this class you'll get at least a B. His quizzes aren't too difficult, although he does have a grammar unit which will make you feel like you're back in middle school. It's not hard though. Would definitely recommend professor Green.

You and I, Sean, are about to have a chat to some kids. Kids: you have never been, nor will you ever be prepared for Sean F*****G Green. Sean Green is my Morro Bae. In all honesty, this is the best GE I have taken in all my four years at Cal Poly. I am actually enjoying a GE right now. I don't know how to express how great this class is; I just want whoever is reading this post to understand that there are no better tech writing professors. This is an awesome class. I'm not trying to be funny right now, this guy is just awesome. Like, please take Sean Green. He is simultaneously as chill and as unchill as he needs to be. If he were any more or less chill, the class would be worse. You can't really ask for more, he's just the man. Thanks, Sean, for being the man.

I took his Technical Writing class because of his high poly rating. However, from DAY 1 the lectures are and boring. He has way too many (midterm-level)quizzes for a class(a total of 6!) and they each worth quite a lot of points. The worst part is that although each quiz has 50 points in total, 20 of those points go to 10 True or False questions, which are usually tricky to answer. I usually lost 6 points(3 wrong on the True or False), which gives me a B already, aside from other problems on the test. He also loads you with tons of reading and projects. There is a total of 4 Projects! Moreover, the worst part is he is being such a harsh grade/teacher on everything!! He is like a savage when it comes to grading quizzes and projects. He will never give partial credits for questions that are partially correct. Aside from all that, the final project was an online submission. Our class has to submit it on Monday while other sections of the same class can submit on Wednesdays or Fridays, which is totally unfair to us since others have more time to work on their projects. The class is a total waste of time for me since I have not improved my writing skill in any form. All in all, avoid Sean Green at ALL COSTS if you are planning on taking ENGL 149!!!!

Great guy, great class. Always a fun lecture, and he clearly cared about all his students. The presentations and assignments all seemed very personal and did not at all feel like a waste of time. His quizzes are all pretty easy if you pay attention in lecture and do the homework. The final paper was really fun as well, as we were allowed to write a recommendation report on basically whatever we wanted, making us actually interested in what we were researching. Overall, if you're gonna take Tech Writing, Sean Green is definitely the way to go. (Even if he is a troll sometimes)

This class was extremely helpful in making a better writer, especially in a professional setting. There are certain things about this class that most students (including me) complained about such as the giant workload, extremely fast-paced nature, and its overall difficulty. But in the end, all the effort I invested in this class was totally worth it. If you put in the effort, you should be able to get a B (if not an A) and more importantly, substantially improve your writing skills.

This professor sucks. He does not specify what he is looking for in projects and we are supposed to just get it all right on the first try. I specifically told him that his instructions were too vague but he more or less ignored me. Although I did notice that other people gave him solid evaluations but notice that not many people got As. Getting an A for a project is basically a guessing game. You have to take your best guess on what he likes and dislikes and just hope for the best. Honestly this is the dumbest class I have seen in my life. I heard that there is another professor that was a lot more easy going so look for other options first kids.

This teacher does not recognize students with learning disabilities, beware. All around the class is fun and keeps you motivated to learn. He will scar your GPA and let you look and feel stupid if you have learning disabilities.

Fine teacher, but a little dry in the presentation. I wouldnt suggest having her at 8:00 in the morning, might be difficult staying awake.
