Professor Littlefield-Halfman (or Professor Littleman, as she asks to be called) loves to talk about her many classroom experiences. She is quite knowledgable, to be sure, but her stories often overshadow and interrupt her lectures to the point that the material we will be tested on gets glossed over really quickly. As far as field experience assignments go, she is heavily lacking. My assignment was messed up and delayed so many times that I had to go contact several elementary teachers myself to try to find myself a classroom to observe in. She acted concerned, but she was not much help when I told her about my assignment issues. You'll probably have to take her as a professor since Miller retired, so just be warned and be ready to go to office hours for clarification.

This class was pretty easy. I learned a lot more in this class about teaching than I did in LS 101. You will write a lot of reflections in this class that are not too challenging. Make sure you study her powerpoints for the midterm and final. The final was challenging, yet reasonable. Overall, I had a positive experience in this class.

I really enjoyed this class. Throughout the quarter you must complete at least 24 hours of field experience in an actual elementary classroom. I enjoyed it a lot and I think it is very important for future teachers to do. Littlefield was a nice professor and only has class one time a week. You will be graded on attendance, five essays, a midterm and final, and the field experience log along with some other papers. It was an easy class and was very fun.

Professor Littlefield is an amazing teacher. I love this class! If you already took LS 250 (it is okay to take LS 250 before you take LS 230), the information during the lectures are different, but you still get to do the field experience! I loved doing the field experience because it really confirmed that I want to be an elementary school teacher. You get to work first-hand in a classroom. It is an amazing experience. The midterm and the final are easy as long as you study and pay attention in class. The homework is just reflections of your field experience.

She knows so much about teaching and student behavior, and I love her stories. Lectures are a bit boring and involve a lot of talking but the lab part of this class (actually going into a classroom) was literally the best part of my week!! I wish I could take this class every quarter just to hang out with all the kiddos.

She's an okay teacher nothing to special. Rather easy to get an A in the class. The actual labs where you go into classrooms is very good for future teachers and was easily my favorite thing about this class.

Going to the elementary school and working with kiddos was fun! Professor Littlefield-Halfman is the worst. She only wants to talk about herself and her experiences and is rude.
