I liked Nutrition in general, but both the book and her lectures are quite dull- not gonna lie. Most of the time, she takes up the whole two hours lecturing, but by the end of the quarter she did get better by throwing in more activities and videos, which I appreciated. This class is pretty easy if you put in a little time to reading and studying. PS STAY ON TOP OF LEARN SMARTS AND START DAPs EARLY!!! Especially listen to the part about the DAPs! Honestly, you don't learn a lot from the DAPs, but they're an easy 30 points if you start early enough. Overall, this class was pretty manageable. Fun fact: Kohlen was on Naked and Afraid- that was a kicker! (Season 3 Episode 7- you're welcome)

Corinne is a really nice person and a very very knowledgeable lecturer. She knows SO much but hardly puts any of it on her powerpoints, which sucks because it's really hard to keep up with all the material she gives. There is a ton of busy work in the class and some of it is tedious, but as long as you keep up with all of it, it is not too bad. The book for this class is extremely dense, and you honestly don't need it in the slightest for this class, so don't waste your money on it. As long as you do the study guides she gives you before the midterm (which are pretty long and detailed) you'll be totally fine for the tests. I wouldn't take this class for B5 because its simply too much content to memorize, even though the tests are straightforward.

This class is easy, simple as that. I'm a Nutrition major so it's a major course, I'm pretty sure I got a 94% in this class. There's busy work, but it's easy and if you do it you'll be fine. Study in advance for the tests, and all I did was study the lectures and commit them to memory and I did just fine, honestly just study the lectures. You will need the access code for the textbook or something like that, just wait until you go to the class and she will tell you. I read the book at first then stopped and just memorized her notes. She's a nice lady and knows her subject, it's a chill class. JUST STUDY for the exams and you'll be fine, good luck.

Corinne is a great person and clearly wants the best for her students. She has been teaching this class for a while, but just had her baby a couple years ago, so she has some applied knowledge as well (and many baby pictures!). Very fair grader and teacher (lots of extra credit opportunities), and I love that she goes above and beyond to give interesting facts and current research on topics in class. She brings in tons of baby and maternal products to see. You also get to try formula which tastes like cardboard/chalk/sawdust which is pretty nice too. ***protip*** if she writes it on the board, its on the test!

Corinne is amazing! The class is so fun and engaging her tests and assignments are fair and she is willing to work with you if you have any problems or questions. I had to take my final earlier and she totally went out of her way to work with me. So glad she is going to be DPD.

I have learned a lot in this class and it's not that difficult. There are 6 articles you have to answer questions on throughout the year and they are such easy point. You also have to do hours working with people with dementia which was interesting and you only need 12. The midterm was a little more difficult than I thought but she didn't count the questions that a lot of the class missed and I ended up with an 88 on the midterm. She is SO nice and even though she lectures the two hour class with no breaks (she'll let you go early sometimes though) she doesn't make anything too difficult and during class in the middle of lectures will say "this is on the midterm (or final)" and repeat it and write it on the board!

This professor is amazing! i highly recommend taking her and FSN 315. She is everything you would want in a professor. The class consists of a midterm, final, a couple small assignments, online quizzes, a 5 page paper, articles/questions, extra credit assignments and a community service portion. You have a few choices where you can do your community service but you need about 12 hours and the 5 page paper is about your experiences with the volunteer work. I really enjoyed this aspect of the class and would recommend garden house to volunteer at! the midterm and final are very fair. you do have to study for them tho, because its a lot of memorization. if you go to class, she will tell you in lecture if you need to know the topic for the test. For the final, i knew over 30 of the questions before even looking at the final because she always tells you if there will be a question on a specific topic. I recommend going to class for this reason. Also, the topics are really interesting, so i never minded waking up early to go. She’s really laid back and as long as you do all the required assignments and look over all the rubrics/criteria, and study your notes for the exam, you will get an A. People that got lower than A’s were not putting in effort, or skipping class often. Take this class, with this teacher if you get the opportunity!

She's great! The class wasn't that hard or too too much work. The community service project, though an understandable and necessary portion of the class, I did not enjoy. Her tests were straight forward, and there was only 1 midterm and 1 noncumulative final plus online quizzes every once in a while. There were also small assignments and of course the paper, but nothing was difficult by any means. You don't need the book. The subject was depressing at first but you quickly realize just how relevant it is, which is always cool.

I really loved Nutrition in aging. I heard it was a really boring class but she brings lots of stories and real world examples which make the material easy to remember. You do have to study for the exams they are not super easy but it is a 300 level course at a university so I wouldn't expect any different. She was very quick to respond to emails and very organized. She always inputs grades quickly and has the powerpoints online.

Corinne is a very nice teacher. She is a dietitian herself for elders so whatever she teaches in class is very up to date. This class consists of simple article reviews(7), online quizzes(5), one midterm, one final, and a reflection paper of the volunteer work you do. I found the class very fascinating. The article reviews are easily graded and so is the paper. She is always willing to help. There is a volunteering component in this class(10 hours), she gives you a list of places where you can volunteer. I volunteered at Garden House in Morro Bay, and enjoyed it. After you complete your hours you have to write a reflection paper, which is super easy. She is open to giving feedback on your rough draft so definitely take advantage of it. Definitely one of my favorite teachers here at Cal Poly, I wish she taught more classes.
