Mr. Ion loves math. LOVES IT. He goes out of his way to help students, and make himself extremely available. He scheduled an extra office hours session for us HOURS before the final. What a champ. An easy class, esp. if math is your thing, but make sure you pay close attention to the concepts. The True & False questions on his test were rough. Take notes----also he replaced our final score with one of the midterms (if it ends up being better). Does all he can to get those grades up.

Such an amazing teacher, really helpful, and easy to understand. Easy A if you have taken Pre Calc before or even if you haven't!

I recommend everyone to get into a class with Mike. He is very clear in his teachings and homework is simple. Everything is well-structured and he is very lenient with the class and bonus points. He definitely is not the type of professor that wants you to fail.

Miguel Ion is absolutely the best teacher Ive had so far!!! He is a grad student and this Spring quarter is his last quarter at poly but honestly Cal Poly should hire him back after graduation because he is phenomenal! I always enjoyed going to office hours (which is rare who likes going to office hours?) and he always kept my early morning class upbeat and fun! If you never took him you missed out, he was the best teacher you could have had at poly.

I loved being in this class - Mike is young and totally gets all of his students, and is super helpful if you ask questions! His tests are not too difficult and he gives study guides and opportunities to gain points back on weekly quizzes.

Mike is super sweet! I was so scared that I was going to fail yet another math class since I truly suck at math, but he was great at explaining concepts. I liked that he gave you a printed out sheet for notes each class period. His tests were very straightforward, and his quizzes were easy if you did the homework. He is such a fun and caring guy who is extremely accommodating to students!

Mike is probably the BEST teacher I've ever had. He absolutely loves math and loves his job. I've never had a teacher that is so invested in his students, but Mike is determined to help everyone succeed. He gets to know each students and makes sure to connect with each of us on what we might be struggling with. He works with us students to make sure that the way he's teaching is helpful and informative, and he's open to ideas of how he can improve that. He makes sure that every student has a chance to attend office hours and he holds extra office hours before midterms and the final. For our class, he pre-wrote and printed out all of the notes so that we had a basis to fill out our own notes and example problems on, and I feel like this method worked very well. We had weekly quizzes based on the homework and everything was very fair. Mike is the BOMB.

Grade A chiller... hands down the best professor I've had at poly and best teacher I've had in general. Weirdly in love with math so will always go out of his way to help you which comes in clutch when he all of a sudden schedules office hours before midterms and pretty much whenever the students want. Easy to relate to because he is young, always smiling and cracking jokes. Absolutely awesome.. take him

Mike Ion is a homie. Since he's young and a grad student, he makes the class enjoyable. He knows how to teach and does it very well. He made learning Calculus for the first time a breeze. Right before exams, he'd schedule office hours centered around the students. He made his own personal note handouts, so all you had to do in class was focus on the board. There was no need trying to write everything down and then catching up. He was labeled as STAFF when I signed up for him, and I really lucked out. If you can, take this guy.
