Nick is a pretty easy going guy. He's a grad student who is an "AutoDesk Student Expert." Whatever that means... But the assignments don't usually take up the entire class and are pretty easy. He goes a little fast during lectures though. So if you mess up on one little thing, you're fucked until after he's done showing you the day's skill. I'm expecting an EASY A in his class and a good understand of AutoCAD (bonus). Take him if you can.

You are pretty much guaranteed to pass this class if you try. Most students will get an A- or higher unless they did not complete all of the lab assignments (40% of your grade). Lab assignments are usually completed during the class, so there are hardly any homework outside of class. Sometimes, I would finish the lab assignments in less than two hours. Toward the beginning of the quarter, we were given two online quizzes. Since the quizzes are worth 10% of our grade, they can actually make a big difference in determining whether you will get a B+, A-, or an A. Each quiz had 5 questions. If you miss one question, you will only have 8.33/10 in the quiz section of your grade. The quizzes are multiple choice and are similar to what he goes over in class. For both the midterm and the final (there is only one of each and both are 20% of your grade), you are to finish the designs within three hours. This was fairly enough time for me to complete. This graduate student is very helpful when it comes to explaining the material to the class. He would show us how to create something on AUTOCAD and would go over it again if someone missed his explanation. The only problem is when you realize that you created the design incorrectly in the beginning of the assignment and you thought you are almost done. Sometimes, you may find yourself having to redo some parts of the lab and you may feel as if you are behind. However, this class is not difficult and you will eventually complete the assignments. Toward the end of the quarter, we started working on 3D shapes. I found them to be more difficult than the 2D drawings we have been working on. I would pay attention much closely as he is lecturing on 3D shapes. With practice, it would not be too difficult. I would take him if you can.

I learned that if I were to take up hunting, I should shoot deer, not bears, because a bear will hunt me back if I successfully wound it. Fascinating! I didnt know that the key to production and operations management was so brutally simple!
