John Lawson was in my opinion the best ARCE 211 teacher of the quarter. He spends almost the entire class giving examples so that you really understand what is going on, while other teachers only brush the surface of difficult concepts in class, Lawson dives into them to make sure his students understand them. I was expecting to have to go office hours every week, but I never needed to go because he did such a great job of explaining everything in class. Oh, and he doesn't use any calculus like some of the other arce professors do, which was a huge plus for me.

Take John if you can. I'm in his 8 am lecture this quarter because that's how much I love his style of teaching. He's straightforward, dynamic, and overall a really nice and understanding guy. If he's offered in a course, choose him first!

Easily the best professor I've had at Cal Poly. I also had him for 211 and it really gave me a great foundation for the rest of my ARCE classes. Now I have him for Foundations and once again he is great. Draws great pictures, gives amazing examples, tests are straightforward, homework is fair.

Those attendance quizzes are HUGE. Go to his class every time and you will get an A.

Fine teacher, but a little dry in the presentation. I wouldnt suggest having her at 8:00 in the morning, might be difficult staying awake.
