She never came to class prepared. She was lazy (did not prepare for class, did not plan out the class, used other teacher's documents without reading them first). She would hold us after class time to finish presentations and said it was "Ok, because my next class is in here" even though the rest of us had to walk across campus. She changed due dates and class policies multiple times. She never presented requirements for projects to the class until a couple days before the assignment was due.

She was never prepared for class and always held us after class. She never used her own assignments, and did not post the requirements for them until right before they were due. My recommendation is to do whatever you can to not have her as your teacher.

She provides very useful, detailed feedback on documents and resumes. She's challenging and has high expectations, but if you put in the effort, your writing will really improve. The class assignments are practical and are examples of the type of writing you'd need to do in academic and professional careers. Only take if you truly want to improve your writing.

I really enjoyed Ms. Neumanns class! She was always very energetic and enthusiastic in class, (although I agree, the lectures were not always well prepared). At the beginning of the class, we were assigned a group that we would work with for the rest of the quarter. We did two major projects with this group: a site observation report and an instruction manual. There's a quiz roughly every other week on the readings. For the midterm, we redesigned a document for a specific audience. And for the final, we turned in a portfolio that displayed out best work. The work load seemed heavy in the beginning of the class, but lightened half way through. I really did learn a lot about technical writing versus the writing I've been used to throughout my schooling, and I actually like tech writing more than I thought I would. I would take another class from her again.
