Andrew was great! He would tell us what was going on and let us go and experience it. Sometimes he would get a little fast, but if you told him, he would clear up what he was talking about. We got to do some awesome activities like make hot dogs, sausage, ground beef, fabricate lamb, etc. There is one project where you go to an assigned grocery store and look at some stuff at the meat counter and present it to the class, but its easy, so dont stress over it, just try to be informed on what they ask of you. The lab final and quizes were always exactly what I thought they would be and very easy if you looked over your notes. I loved this lab and would love to take it again if I could!

Andrew is a great teacher but his head gets bigger and bigger by the minute! Putting that aside, he was a great lab instructor. He asks tons of questions so try and answer them and you\'ll get a definite good grade in the class. He really made me enjoy meat science and I went from being a vegetarian to eating meat. If you get the chance definitely take his lab!

I took this class as a elective class, I found this class to be such a valuable course! Andrew is a awesome professor and is very passionate about the topic. This course has a lot of new terminology if you know very little about the topic. So expect to have to study a decent amount and you will have no problem getting a A in the class!

Andrew was a great teacher for 211. He knows what he's talking about and is really passionate to help you in understanding the material. His midterms aren't multiple choice, they're more fill in the blank or short answer but it makes you study harder and understand the material even better. The labs are also really fun and interesting. His class is fairly easy if you go to all his lectures, pay attention, and take good notes. He goes fast on his lectures but if just write what he's saying because that's what's more important and if he repeats something A LOT, write it down. I guarantee you it'll be on the midterms and finals. He also has quizzes maybe every two weeks, but they're really easy and help boost your grade. Overall, he's a really good teacher! Take the class! it's super interesting and you'll learn a lot.

Hosford was very rude and unhelpful when it came to lab. Lecture was fine and easy to understand, but whenever I asked for help with labs he always expected us to know what to do in advance. He often told us to figure it out for ourselves which didn't help because if we cut the meat incorrectly he would get pissed at us. Very disrespectful

I really enjoyed this course. His lectures were used as PowerPoint and the labs were very hands-on. Great opportunities to work closer with CP meat industry including deep understanding on meat. The professor allows plenty of time for discussion and questions from students. The best part is making your own sausage for sausagefest! Only three tests and they are not hard if you do the study! Overall, Hosford is very friendly, fun, and knowledgeable; I would take him!

Taking this instructor is like being in a Twilight Zone episode. You just can
