Murphy, Todd  

This is the first C I have recieved in my entire life. I hope that says something to all of you out there watching their GPA. Do not take him--this class was a nightmare!

Really cool guy. The class is at 740, which is pretty early and the lectures can be kinda slow but its not a bad class. It's nice to have a class that doesnt only focus on the AG industry since not everyone in AGB is going to work in ag their whole life even though some professors like to think so. The homework is pretty easy, and the quizzes are not very hard. He makes it very clear what you should and should not study which is nice for a change. The project in the class isnt too bad, a lot better than the one howard gave in 326 and much more useful (i think). Take this professor if you can, you will be happy you did!

Professor Murphy is a really cool guy and knows pretty much everything about appraisal. It kinda sucked because the class was from 7:40 am - 9:00 am twice a week. Unless your really into property appraisal it could be kinda boring, not real exciting material. He basically goes right off handouts (15 total) that he provides you via blackboard. The book is pretty useless for the class. It is a good informative book, but, useless for the class. Not worth the 120 $. You should get it if you are considering becoming an appraiser. There is a big project assigned the second week of class (group project). It consists of the appraisal of a residential property. It's due the last day of class in week 10. Pretty long project, choose your group wisely. There was 1 midterm and 4 quizzes in the class. He prepares you very well for the tests and quizzes. They were all cake. The final however, was a lot harder than the the quizzes and the midterm. He made sure you really understood the concepts. The lab/activity is pretty much an extended class. Overall he is a very good teacher and a really cool guy. If you put effort forth you should easily get a B in the class.

This guy is the man! Despite being in the morning, this class was very enjoyable... He keeps it interesting and that sense of humor of his will always brighten your day. Definitely take this class if you are looking for a fun yet interesting topic. Very helpful with understanding new ideas.
