Wow, she has a PhD in communications/english? No fucking way! She can't even speak clear english, she left out so many articles that I just about had a bitch fit. The whole class was constantly confused as to what was expected...On the other side, this was probably one of the easiest COMS classes available, no quizzes, midterms, or papers to write. Our grade was totally based on attendance, 4 speeches, and the final (and a few other small things). Don't bother reading, it's pointless, for the final I just went over the glossary in the book and got an 88%. She's also one of the nicest teachers I've had, friendly and when I slept through the final, she let me take it the next day.

I thought professor hwang was a great teacher. apparently she changed up her class because the grade was based off a lot more then just speeches and participation. For my class there was four speeches (most of your grade), 3 speech evaluations (easy points), speech critisism paper (3-5 pages on a famous speech), participation (easy points), a midterm and a final (if you do the reading, easy points). she also offered extra credit for volunteering to time speeches and for being a moderator (basically writing down the good or the bad aspects of someones speech). shes very friendly and approachable both during class and outside of class. she tells you what to expect on the midterm and final. she uses blackboard for alot for useful things like posting your assignment grades, discussion boards about the midterm/final, handouts, etc. in addition to all that, she is absolutely gorgeous. if i was 10 years older i would ask her to marry me.

Big Plus....One mid term and NO Final Durring the mid term she makes you put all of your stuff in the front of the class and watches over you like a hawk! This will make you very unconvertable maybe she wont do this anymore! Plus the test is pretty hard! I did bad on the mid term and still ended up with a B in the Class. This was becuase of all the little assignments added up and saved my grade. The final is a long paper like 20 pages but it's not bad cuz you have a partner or 2 to help you. You really don't have to show up for class only on days you have to turn in things. Over all the class wasn't that bad she just talks a lot and it's hard to follow her sometimes! I didn't buy the book and didn't need to use it. She post everything you need on blackboard. I really liked Dr. Hwang she is a really nice person and she cares about the students. She's all about APA Style becuase she had a incident in her past about how she didn't do APA on one of her papers! So I understand why she is like this! She doesn't what this to happen to you! Take the class! Don't be scared! She's to cute to be scared of! lol

this teacher is one of the most ineffective communicators i have ever had; and being as it's a communication class, i would have figured that the faculty would hire people that can speak good english. when i was studying abroad in italy, every single one of my teachers, all of which were born and raised in Italy, could speak better, less broken english. then after she struggles to effectively convey they material she has the nerve to critique you on your ability to give a presentation. in my opinion she is very knowledgable about her subject, but should leave the teaching to the "effective" teachers.

This is the worst teacher I have ever had. She teachers communication yet she can't communicate? Are you kidding me! She can barely speak English. She can't explain assignments, can't answers questions with enough information for the class to understand and she lacks any understanding of her students. I have been in the College of Liberal Arts all four years and have never ever experienced APA formatting. No one else in the class had either. She never explained to us how to do cite properly, she just graded people down or in a worse case, accused a girl in my class of PLAGIARISM just because she cited incorrectly! She has NO BUSINESS TEACHING ANY COMMUNICATION COURSE!

This is the first C I have recieved in my entire life. I hope that says something to all of you out there watching their GPA. Do not take him--this class was a nightmare!
