Kyle Loughman is absolutely amazing...i highly recommend taking his class. I loved going to his class, he is really funny and talks about random things in class. We had to write 4 short essays (2-3 pages) and 2 long essays (4-6 pages) it may seem like a lot but he spaces them out and makes it interesting. You don't have very much reading, maybe 10 pages in a night but its really easy reading. He is really easy to relate to because he is not that much older than us and he is so personable. He the most adorable person ever and you should take his class if possible!

I thought I could write. I learned otherwise in Loughman's eng-134 class. This class teaches you how to write a college level paper. He grades hard and pushes you to be more critical of your work. This prompts are generally interesting, lots of tools to achieve the grade you want. Your able to rewrite every paper for a better grade. Lots of class participation, not a boring class, need to attend every class because you only get one unexcused absence. I would recommend Loughman.

Kyle is a great teacher. I started off the quarter with B's on my first two essays. After learning what I was doing wrong, Loughman helped me alter my writing style, and I ended up with an A in the class. He lets your redo all your essays, so there is really no reason to get a bad grade here. Loughman is a pretty tight guy too, he keeps lectures interesting, even for 7 in the morning. Take him if you have the chance, well him or Sadie Martin.. both are great.

He's a really great teacher and he genuinely wants to make the class interesting for his students. He's super chill and very approachable in class and in office hours. He is a tough grader but he lets you rewrite all of the essays and will help you with them too. The only bad thing about his class was that it was at 8am and we had class on Fridays

This guy is awesome. He loves discussions and definitely gives you brownie points for participating. He doesn't grade too hard- if you prove why you did what you did then he'll give in to your reasoning. And you can rewrite all the essays for a better grade

I absolutely loved professor loughman. He is quiet entertaining and really laid back and chill. He gives a fair amount of essays only 2 to 3 pages though. And you have reading due every day of class that you are required to read and you\'ll get random quizzes but the reading is super super easy and entertaining.. usually like 2 pages out of a small book. Everyone usually read it ten minutes before class. His grading on essays is not super easy but its really informative. He really helps you improve your writting and everything you write about is much more entertaining and way more fun to write about than any essays i have heard from other people in 134 with other teachers. ALSO if you go talk to him during office hours if your unhappy with an essay score and you have reasoning for what you said he will change your grade. AND YOU CAN REWRITE EVERY ESSAY FOR A BETTER GRADE!!! seriously people. lets be real. take this class with this teacher and actually enjoy english for once... and ladies - he reminded us all of matthew mcconaughey.. i really dont know what more i could say.

Loughman is an interesting professor. He is a student himself so I think he grades harder than other teachers. We had to write 6 essays throughout the quarter. He does let you rewrite essays, but you have to earn the ability to rewrite them by going to office hours. Right when you think you understand what you are supposed to do for a higher grade on the essay, you rewrite it and get 1-2 points higher. Rewriting your essays is not worth your time. He is very indecisive and doesnt ever directly answer questions. I wish I would have taken a different professor. Class time is a waste, you talk about nothing.

I took this teacher because he was rated high. But he is such a horrible teacher. I feel the only reason he was rated high was because he jokes and is a fun teacher, but I personally didn\'t appreciate any of it. He said so himself at the beginning of class that he is lazy. We hardily do anything in class and the way he grades essays are ridiculous. There are 6 of them each worth 30 pts and every tiny little thing, he marks down which brings down your score pretty quick . He doesn\'t realize this either \"-5 that\'s not too bad\" but that\'s a B-... He also will do nothing in your favor nor do anything extra. He always will pull the, \"it\'s due when due\" or \"it\'s not fair to everyone else\" BS. It\'s just an excuse for his laziness. I DO NOT recommend this guy. I would be surprised if anyone got higher than a B and if the class average was higher than a C. My other friends who took this class with a different professor had only 4 essays and an easy A.

Kyle is a great guy. Arguably the most laid back professor I have had at Cal Poly. He presents the material very clearly and definitely gives time to his students for help. This was the first time he taught English 145 and he succeeded. There were 3 essays. One definition essay, claim essay, and a 8-10 page research paper that isn't bad at all. Make sure to attend class everyday because he has pop quizzes on the previous nights reading randomly. Kyle is a great teacher and if given the opportunity surely take him!

Loughman is definitely one of the most laidback and approachable professors ive had so far at cal poly. hes young, relatively new to teaching, and a really nice guy. as far as the classes go... you have reading every night and make sure you do them! he has random quizzes a lot and the only reason i didnt get a higher grade thani did was cuz i didnt always read and i missed a quiz. he grades kinda hard on the papers but hes pretty reasonable overall. you write 3 papers, definition, claim, nad a 8-10 page research paper as the final. i would definitely recommend him... you wont regret it! even at 7 am... though its annoying to have to wake up that early every day.

Loughman is a really cool and funny guy. He is also very young so he can relate easier. He really respects everybody and is non-biased in class. He will always take the opposing view in a discussion just to keep people thinking. He seemed to like my writing style so when I usually get Bs no matter what on my essays I got As in his class. Every day I looked forward to his class because it was fun. I also learned quite a bit about argumentatie writing.

HOLY HELL!!!This guy has to be one of the most chill teachers at Cal Poly. The class atmosphere is always up beat and their is never a dull moment. He is very understanding and the guy himself is a student and knows how hard we are all working. Now by no means does this mean he is easy, but as long as you go to class and come some what prepared to take the quizzes you\'ll be fine. There are two big papers and a small paper at the beginning but Loughman takes you step by step through them to come up with a solid argument and you pretty much have the paper written by the time you go to start it. His grading is normal, no you can\'t bullshit your way through papers, he can see right through it, but he grades on your argument, and how well you convey it. I have to say that his class is fair and teaches you a lot about argument. Loughman will argue everything you have to say, not just about the class but he likes to listen in on everyone\'s outside conversations to, and incorporate them in the class. He\'s one of those teachers you would want to go drink a beer with once you turn 21. Overall, the guy wants to give everybody A\'s, its a good GE and I would highly recommend Loughman for ENG 145 or ENG 134.

During this entire quarter all I could think about was how this professor reminded me of that small little dog that runs through the back of scene 23 in The Incredibles by Pixar. Seriously, if you look it up you will only be able to see it...
