Speidel is a great guy and is always able to help any student who needs it. With that said, he is not always clear on what he wants and sometimes you find yourself asking him what he wants from you more than once. Do not get behind on your ArchiCAD project or you will hate the class for the rest of the quarter. It is a LOT of work but if you keep up, you should at least get a B!

Honestly, I don't know if there is a kinder man on campus. Elbert is more than willing to help you if you ask for help. Also, you get lots of time to collaborate with students in the class which I found the most effective way to learn the material. Elbert is a really fair teacher who really wants to see all his students succeed. Waking up for the 7am class isn't is even bad, class is enjoyable.

Speidel was a really nice guy, and he was really open to input. I had him his first quarter teaching, and basically he sat in the other 211 section (with paul) and regurgatated the information to us. i got a B with wayyyyyy less effort than the other class, and i think we learned about the same information. For the most part, tho' spidel was a good guy.

Speidel is a difficult teacher to understand because he talks very quietly. Those CM classrooms are fairly large, and I sat in the back and could not hear him very well, so if you take him try to snag a spot up front. He also does not make the assignment requirements very clear, so you never really know what to do. But he makes up for his inability to present material clearly by not grading very difficult. He also doesnt require as much info on the drawings as Paul Weber does. Its hard to say who is better between Speidel and Weber because you might learn more with Paul, but Speidel seems a little easier. Keep in mind when you take this class that the first 3 weeks will kick your ass. I'm not joking. Be prepared to draw for hours on end. I think it should be rated as a 12 unit class.

This class is the most time demanding class in the major, so take Elbert to lessen the load. I had friends taking the class with Paul and they worked harder and got worse grades. I spent only a night or two in the lab doing a bs job and I got a b+. You may learn a little more with paul but the extra time and lower grade aint worth it

good ol elbert, hes a good guy, really does know his shit, but he just really cant teach it too well. so if you take him, youre gonna have to ask a lotta questions but he will have the answer for you. the class is not hard at all but just takes a fuck load of time. i recommend elbert, hes a good guy, pretty laid back about that class and pretty helpful

Elbert is the man. I had him for his first quarter so tihngs were a littel rough but he has found his groove now and he can teach the classes well. YOu will learn a lot as long as you put in the time and pay attention and care about what oyu are learning. For all you who whine about 211 and being hard you should shut up it is cake and it is the only class we have to take that takes time out of your day all quarter so suck it up. If oyu take elbert and oyu like construciton then you will look forward to class everyday

Elbert it the man. He should just teach every course. He is super nice and is always willing to help and answer any questions. He wants everyone to get an A. If you take him you'll learn alot and you don't really have any homework. Really good teacher. Take him if you can for any class.
