Interesting that she didn't already have some evaluations. Well, since I am the first, I will say a few things about her and her class. She herself is a bit neurotic; she will show up to open the lab doors no sooner than 11 after the hour, and when she talks she always seems like she can't quite get enough oxygen. Her "introductions" to the labs are helpful only because they tell you what she is looking for in your lab report so that you can get above a 6 (out of 10). However you will never get a 10, so don't even ask (our magic number was 9.2). Here is a big fat hint: PRINT OUT THE LABS AND READ THEM THE NIGHT BEFORE. Also, try to do some of the menial work of the lab, like filling out tables and such. This will save you time and enable you to actually finish the lab within the period. With the amount of work and learning that is involved, the LAB should be worth 3 units and the damn lecture should be worth 1. Oh, and wait 'till you get there, then just decide with your partner who's gonna buy the parts kit and who's gonna bring a mini-screwdriver. No use in both of you wasting money. Buy the kit from IEEE, not the bookstore--El Corral doesn't have the right shit anyway, and it costs five times as much. Now back to the professor. She refuses to answer a question directly, and her lab TA was very much the same way. Instead they will tell you to "think about it" and "try something else", while you sit there wondering what else to try and cursing them for taking "Learn by Doing" to a ridiculous new level.

Liddicoat likes to beat around the bush and not answer her student's questions directly, giving the impression that she doesn't want to help. When having problems with lab equiptment, she will just fool around with the cables, and it doesn't seem like she knows what she's doing. She is a harsh grader. Your lab reports have to be absolutely PERFECT to get a 10. Impossible as it seems, my lab partner and I managed to get 10's twice, so there is hope - it just have to be spotless. Sometimes she docks major points off for just one question answered wrong. Anyway, she does curve it at the end, but I found lab with her very frustrating the way she didn't help us out by answering questions or explaining anything to us.
